Announcement   Welcome to my shop of vintage goodness. Betty and Dot were my two sweet and sassy grandmothers, and I've named my shop in their honor. I love all things vintage and things handmade--if they're vintage AND handmade, so much the better.

Dear Customers--as many of you may know, the USPS has raised rates effective January 17; while the price of a stamp did not increase, the price of parcels has increased across the board. Apologies...if I have overcharged you, I will gladly refund as I'm able upon return from the P.O.

If you're looking for vintage sewing supplies, come visit me at my other Etsy shop, SewBettyAndDot: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sewbettyanddot

Come visit me at my blog: www.foziewisp.blogspot.com

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: I generally mail twice a week, on Monday and Friday; OF COURSE, please convo me if you need something sooner.

I'm more than happy to ship internationally--please convo me for a quote. Please know that I mark customs forms with “merchandise” and the accurate price of the item. Buyers should be aware of any customs/import/VAT fees they may be responsible for in their specific country. ALSO please be aware that parcels MIGHT take several weeks to reach you. Many thanks for your understanding!

About

Got Vintage? I Do!

I have always collected things. As a child, my bedroom shelves were filled with stuff: every birthday cake topper I ever had, little things made out of shells from tacky souvenir stands, ANYTHING related to dogs. Much to my mom's chagrin, at the age of 14 I discovered that the Salvation Army was full of cool clothes from other eras!

As I got older--and married a fellow collector (he's a librarian, so HIS collection are all very well organized and cataloged!)--my collections became a bit more focused...and extensive! I love the "thingness" of my "stuff," but more than that, it's a nostalgia for people and times past and a love of the history behind the things.

Getting up early and rushing off to an estate sale, garage sale, or--the very best!--church rummage sale: this is how my husband and I like to start our weekends, and we've planned road trips around shopping for more vintage. At all of these sales, I began to see things that were out of the scope of my own collecting, as it were, but these things NEEDED to be rescued...by ME! So they started to come home with me, and thus was born my Etsy shop. I only sell things that I personally think are cool or funny or quirky or lovely.

Like quite a few folks here on Etsy, I've named my shop after my two grandmothers: Betty Maxine was a great cook and pie baker extraordinaire who influenced my love of vintage fashion--always dressed in a frock, with an apron around her waist and with a "pocketbook" that contained a softly Dentyne-scented hankie. Dot (Dorothy Agnes Bridget) was a much more eccentric personality who ALWAYS had her nose in a book.

My love of vintage will abide, and as long as I keep scouring the dusty garages (digging in boxes is the BEST) and chatting with the lovely church ladies at their sales, Betty and Dot will be here to provide you with fun vintage oddities and lovelies.

P.S. If you like vintage sewing--patterns, fabric, notions--come visit me in my other Etsy shop, Sew Betty and Dot.

I have always loved all things vintage, from a very early age, and I'll always remember my first vintage frock score at a Salvation Army in my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. My obsession with vintage continues to this day (I also love chickens!).

General Business Practices

I do my best to describe items accurately, so I hope you are happy and find no unpleasant surprises when you receive your order. I do want my customers to be 100% satisfied, so be in touch immediately if there are any concerns once you receive your parcel.

I recycle packing materials when possible; of course, I only use clean materials, and your item will come packaged with lots of care (and safely and neatly packed).

Also, I do have a dog living in my home, but my items are stored in another building in sealed containers.
