This is my third purchase from Alyssa and I have yet to be disappointed! This is a stunning, warm mala. The beads are beautiful and arranged thoughtfully. I don’t think I want to buy malas from anywhere else! Alyssa is also wonderful to work with. Thank you!

These stone’s colors are so pretty. They are small stones but the piece is just lovely.

This piece is simply exquisite. The stones are lovely and the hand knotting makes them drape beautifully.

Why "Bicycling Buddha?"
Some may call me an avid cyclist, and others may call me a cycling nut, but one thing is for certain, I love riding bikes! When you ride bikes as much as I do, you tend you start "collecting" an inventory of miscellaneous bike pieces and parts, as you wear things out and replace them, or upgrade. Basically I'm a bike hoarder! Sustainability and recycling have always been a passion of mine, so I decided to turn my worn out and broken bike parts, into wearable art! I started making jewelry under the name ReVeloed, which is a play on words, combining the word "recycled" and the French word "velo", which means "bike," thus giving you ReVeloed - or "Recycled Bike! When I started making this funky jewelry, it awakened a part of me that had been dormant for a long time. I had put my art aside years earlier, as I had gotten busy with the usual things: relationships, kids, a career, etc., and somehow over the years, I had forgotten that I had loved making things! ReVeloed gave me the beautiful gift of reawakening, but as the creativity continued to burst forth, I found that something was missing.
I have always had a thirst for knowledge, a desire to ever improve myself as a human, and a passion for caring for others. The latter brought me to the medical field (I have worked as a medical assistant for 15 years, and am currently a full time nursing student.) I suppose all three attracted me to Tibetan Buddhism. I made my first mala for my precious teacher and mentor. She was going on a trip to Africa, and I wanted her to have a gift before she left. Admittedly, I agonized over the stones I used, the design, everything! But when I put her mala between our hands, and felt the energy radiating between us, I realized that this was what I was meant to do. As fun as the bike jewelry is, it does not foster that same level of human connections that all of us humans so desperately need these days. Each and every one of my malas are made with pure love, and when you receive one from me, you feel that love. In turn, when you use your mala to dedicate merit, or simply just hold for comfort, I can feel it. That's what I was missing, and it isn't missing anymore.
I hope that you find something in my shop that moves you, inspires you, gives you hope, or makes you smile.
May you have love and light always,
Alyssa (Lee) Aylward
Alyssa grew up in Seattle, WA, but is originally from Alaska. She has two amazing sons, recently married the love of her life. She is currently a full time nursing student, & will graduate in June. She enjoys cycling, hiking, climbing, & birding.
He takes his job very seriously. ;-)
Six sniffs and sometimes eats beads. It isn't helpful, but it's cute!
Thank you for visiting! May your days be filled with light and love, and many bicycle rides!

ABOUT THE MATERIALS I USE
All of the materials I use are hand picked by me and are top quality. All gemstones used are genuine, and all descriptions of materials are accurate to the very best of my knowledge. If I am unsure of any of the materials used, it will be noted in the listing.
Malas or jewelry of any kind are NOT safe for babies! Beads pose a choking risk (if a necklace/mala were to break - babies do love to chew!) Anything placed around your child's neck is a strangulation hazard! Even with close supervision, putting jewelry on your baby (or toddler for that matter) is not safe. Accidents happen very quickly.
