About

The Birth of Big Bird's Boutique

Big Bird’s Boutique was born out of the love of textiles and colour. I am a designer maker and a graduate in Contemporary Textiles (I specialised in printing and dyeing). But as so many do, after uni I found myself in a job that didn't quite fulfil my dreams.

When I fell pregnant with Little Bird #1, I decided to grab the opportunity of time that maternity leave was presenting me and set up Big Bird's Boutique as a little hobby. I grew rather accustomed to this life; so as maternity leave drew to an end I decided that I was going to quit my ‘grown up’ job as a design consultant and pursue my passion of textiles and interior design.

The aim of Big Bird's Boutique is to provide fresh and contemporary design that specialises in lifestyle accessories for kids. I want my work to make your kids stand out from the crowd!

Why Big Bird's Boutique? Well, quite simply, that is what my friends call me. I like to think it is because I am tall. Not big, yellow and feathery.

MULTIPLE ITEM SHIPPING COSTS
• If you are ordering more than one item you will be charged shipping for all those items. However as soon as your items are dispatched a refund will be issued for the extra shipping charges incurred. If you would prefer the shipping to be calculated before placing the order please do send a message and we will be happy to create a custom listing for you with the correct shipping charges.

UK CUSTOMERS
• Most items to the UK are sent using First Class Royal Mail post. This is NOT a tracked or insured service.
• If you would like a tracked service then please message me for an upgraded shipping cost.
• Larger items such as cushions and pouffes will be send with a courier.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
• Most items sent to international addresses are sent using Royal Mail standard airmail. This is NOT a tracked or insured service.
• If you would prefer to use a tracked and insured service there is the option to upgrade to an Airsure delivery, which is available to most destinations. This service provides 6 stage tracking and priority handling. There is a surcharge of approximately £6 per shipment. Please message me for details before ordering.
• Larger items such as cushions and pouffes will be send with a courier using a trackable service for our peace of minds!
• It takes on average 7 – 14 days for international orders to be delivered to their destination. However, delays can occur with Mail delivery especially around Holidays.
• Buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

ALL CUSTOMERS
• You can keep up to date with your order by logging in to your Etsy account. I will do my best to keep you up to date with your order(s) but please also keep an eye on your Etsy feedback for shipping confirmation.
• Please note, I cannot take responsibility for the postal service. At peak times, items may take longer than expected so please allow extra time if possible. Delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Items are not considered lost in the mail until 1 month has passed.

DUTIES AND LOCAL TAXES
Purchasers are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country.
Refunds and Exchanges
DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
If any item arrives damaged please contact me immediately and I will process a claim and/or replacement. The Royal Mail usually requires an inspection in the event of damages so please hold onto all packing materials and the item until further notice. You may be contacted by a member of the Royal Mail as part of their insurance process. Please wait for my instructions before returning the item to me. Big Bird's Boutique MUST be informed within 7 days of delivery of all damaged goods, or I cannot process a claim. Please inspect all deliveries thoroughly upon arrival.

LOST SHIPMENTS
If your item does not arrive within 14 days of your order and you have not received correspondence from us informing you of a delay in delivery please contact us. Risk of loss passes to you once the item has been passed to the Royal Mail.

RETURNS POLICY
I am very sorry but I cannot offer a return service. This does not affect your statutory rights.

CUSTOM ORDERS
These are non-refundable.

Maintaining the security of your personal information is extremely important to us. We will never sell or distribute any customer information, under any circumstance, including the information of people subscribed to our mailing list. This is in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

PRODUCTS & DESIGNS
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure our products are displayed accurately onscreen, some computer monitors may display colours of prints incorrectly and the artwork may vary slightly from the colours you see on screen.
