About

Waste not ! Want not! Vintage memories retained.

I have been collecting and hoarding vintage items for years. Older better made items have always spoken to me. I can visualize that vintage mixing bowl serving alot of warm and comforting meals. I can appreciate the work of the illustrator who's artistic hands made his or hers images come alive. I appreciate the feel of a solid cast iron skillet. All of the items I sell tell a story or evoke a feeling . Its how I try to live. I was raised by people who experienced the Great Depression first hand. The saying around my people was " waste not , want not". I guess thats why I hoard a tad and appreciate the durable and simple things in life.
As a child I was surrounded by Southern engineers who made due or created unique items from what they had lying around the house or barn. My Grandfather was always dragging up something. I loved playing in the piles of stuff! I only began re selling vintage items approximately 20 years ago. My experiences and my upbringing have lead to what I call the voice of the past , which resides within me. Im not crazy, but things speak to me. I try to sell quality items at fair prices. Im not greedy nor is this my living, it is my passion! I look at this passion as a history lesson. Im always learning from my searches. My shop is spread out throughout my house. I list and photograph in a spare bedroom. I unload and sort in my garage, and I store, and repair in my barns on my property. My family helps me when I get overwhelmed with sales or when I have to process a large number of items quickly. My Etsy promise is to bring new life to vintage items so we can connect to the past, and save valuable resources. Plus things that were made a long time ago seem to hold up better.

I have collected old things for as long as I can remember. Certain things speak to me. Whether its a mixing bowl that served up alot of good meals, or a vintage ad for a bygone product. I see usefulness behind all of the items I list for sale.
