Welcome! Thank you for taking a look at my store. I work hard to keep my prices low while still using high-quality materials. How do I do this? I'm constantly on the lookout for great supplies at great prices-- when I find them, I pass them on to you, without a huge mark-up. I live in central-Illinois, so I charge central-Illinois prices, which also helps keep the prices lower. Rest assured; my prices are on the low side, my quality is not!

I especially love using semi-precious stones and sterling silver, copper, and brass in my designs. Wire-wrapping is my favorite, but I also love stringing beads and sculpting with precious metal clay, as well as dabbling in metal work. I also love to rework items... do you have Grandma's old necklace with great beads but no style? I can turn them into a piece you'll love to wear.

Special requests are welcome, and I will ship overseas to most places-- Illinois residents will be charged 6.25% sales tax at checkout.

Please note: USPS shipping prices have increased, especially for shipping outside the US. If I overestimate the cost of international shipping, I will refund the difference. US shipping rates should still be pretty close, as they haven't changed as much.

What a beautiful piece. I love it! I'm so glad you didn't sell it to someone else. I have a lot of black onyx and gold pieces that I can wear this with. Just gorgeous! Very fast shipping too. A+ seller

About

rocks and metal make me happy

I started my jewelry making with a 6 week wire-wrapping class at our local art center. Before the class was finished, the center requested some of my pieces to offer for sale in their gift shop. I was also chosen to be the featured artist of the month at the center-- the first time a 3-D artist had been selected! It's been non-stop since.

I struggled for a long time about a store name. Finally my husband suggested "Big Smile" because that's the first thing he noticed about me, and that's what I hope people have when they receive my work! Also, even strangers sometimes comment on my big smile, so hopefully it will be easy for people to remember :)

I enjoy selling my jewelry at our local farmer's market-- I always have so much fun meeting new people who stop to look at my booth, and have made many friends through my jewelry. I've had the honor of making several very special custom orders, and often get specific requests, which I love to work with.

I love to work with semi-precious stones, Czech glass, silver, copper, and brass. I also really enjoy working with metal clay, and have recently started doing more metal work, which is a blast. Even though I've been doing this for a long time, I still enjoy learning new techniques and working them into what I already do.

I try to keep my prices reasonable by constantly searching for quality materials at great prices. When I get a good deal, I can pass it on to my customers. I don't charge "boutique" prices, because I skip the boutique and sell directly to the happy customers who wear what I make.

Thank you for your interest in my designs. I usually use sterling silver, copper, brass, and gold-filled metals in my designs, but will always list materials so you have an accurate description of exactly what you're getting.

I NEVER use plastics... all stones are actually stones! I prefer to make designs using semi-precious or found stones, but also enjoy using glass, wood, leather, crystal and other materials. Again, materials will always be listed.

Please convo me if you have any questions about my pieces-- I love to hear from you!

Payment
I accept paypal-- it's easy, immediate, and protects both the buyer and seller.
I also accept credit card payments; another easy way. If you pay by credit card, please know I do not see your credit card number; etsy has set up a secure way for you to pay without giving the merchant your card number directly.
Shipping
My standard shipping for US addresses is first class mail with delivery confirmation. If you would like an upgrade to priority or insurance, or have another means you prefer to receive your packages by, let me know! I usually ship in a bubble-mailer, and I try to re-use/recycle packing material as much as possible.
Refunds and Exchanges
I am currently not offering refunds except in the case of mistaken shipments. I will make repairs to items in the unlikely case they would be necessary. Buyer is responsible for return shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
Is your item a gift for someone else? I can take care of the gift-box or bag if you'd like-- just let me know what works for you, and I'll do my best to meet your needs.

Please note that some of my items require information from the buyer; info like color and length are important to include in the "note to seller" when required. If the information is not provided, I will either WAIT until I hear from you to ship your item, or CANCEL your order. In some cases, I may choose a default color or size and send it to expedite the order.
