Our art is about science. Laura Moore is a scientist, a horticulture enthusiast and a naturalist. When she discovered PMC she knew exactly what she was going to do with it. At the start it was just plants being rolled directly into the clay, and then she taught herself how to make molds. Her entomological exploits have been over-shadowing the botanical side lately, but she always returns to plants.
This last summer PMC came out with a Bronze clay and Opal started playing around with the less expensive (and less scary) material. She's trying to get herself to start working on a line of simple bags that will feature a bronze piece, but she has no confidence in her sewing abilities. She's now moved on to making buttons and pins that you can attach to your own bag that she doesn't have to sew.
While cast from a mold, each piece is created one at a time and is unique. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same, especially if it is a large, free-form piece.
Because of the nature of the Bronze clay, and the process used for color creation each piece is truly one of a kind.

Additional policies and FAQs
Q: I can has custom order?
A: Custom orders are welcome! Keep in mind, though, that we use ACTUAL LIVING MATERIAL to make our molds, and cannot fit whales, turtles, mermaids, horses, dolphins, cats, dogs, or anything bigger than 3 inches across onto a piece. However, if you happen to find any of the above items that are less three inches across, we would happily make a mold from it.
Q: Do you murder the little creatures for your jewelry?
A: Yes, we do euthanize some of our specimens. If this is a concern for you, we will be happy to send you a list of items where the specimen was either found dead or survived the creative process. Also, any item on leather can be put on chain for and extra $10.
Q: I'm allergic to silver, can I have gold ear wires?
A: Yes. We have gold or fine silver (no nickle, I seem to do pretty well with these) available for an extra $5.
Q: Do you do wholesale?
A: Yes! We'd love to get our jewelry into more places! Minimum order for wholesale is 7 pieces and California requires a state resale number
Q: Do you ever make anything with gold?
A: Yes, we've made one gold piece, mostly for display. It's the basic rectangle size (the ones that are $49 in the silver) and costs about $700 retail. If you're still alive, and interested please contact us for a quote.
