BindingTies' Shop Announcement

Much of my time is spent working on custom handfasting cords so the stock in my store isn't changing very much. If you'd like to see some of the finished creations, take a look at my Facebook page where I often show completed custom orders, and if you're looking for something particular but dont see it, please contact me and we can chat about your requirements :-)

In early 2012 I started Binding Ties, making luxury handfasting cords. Since then, my range has expanded to include all manner of other gorgeous creations - in a nutshell, I love making lovely things! So if you like the style of what I create but cant see what you're looking for, just let me know - I'm happy to try something new, and love a challenge :-)

Already available is a range of luxury handfasting cords, braided belts, garters, floral crowns, rustic bouquets, dress sashes, unusual hair combs and hair bands - you've come to the right place if you're looking for something unique and made to last :-)

If you cant see exactly what you're after, let me know - made to measure and custom colours are a speciality :-)

As a bit of background, handfasting cords are part of an ancient Celtic wedding tradition, and the origin of the phrase 'tying the knot'.

I create high quality, luxury handfasting cords, as individual and as unique as you and your special day. Cords can be created from satin, silk, velvet, ribbon, lace, or elaborate braiding, or made using more 'natural', earthy elements such as leather, suede and cotton. I only use the finest elements, no cheap plastic beads or unravelling cords, and the ends of all strands are either treated to prevent fraying, or fixed into decorative caps which allow for further embellishment. You may only use your cords for one day, but I make them so they last a lifetime.

Each cord comprises a number of individual strands, and at both ends of every strand is usually a decorative element. These embellishments are handmade and each of these are unique, often incorporating such features as wire wrapped beads, gemstones and swarovski crystals. They can also be made from wood or antler or terracotta, glass or metal or fabric.

Cords can be created for weddings as well as anniversaries, engagements, vow renewal ceremonies, or committment ceremonies. Colours and charms can be selected to match the scheme of your day, or can combine elements that are personal to you and your partner.

All cords are delivered to you wrapped in tissue paper, in heavyweight, ivory card keepsake boxes..

Handmade custom keepsake boxes are also available, each decorated to complement and enhance the handfasting cord.

In addition to handfasting cords, I also offer a range of complimentary creations, from garters to elaborate crowns, braided belts to matching jewellery. So if you like the style of what I create but dont see a particular product you're looking for, contact me - I love a challenge and am always looking to stretch my wings :-)

BindingTies' Shop Policies

Welcome

Welcome to Binding Ties, the home of luxury handfasting cords, sashes, bouquets, garters, crowns and much more! :-)

Payment

If you're buying something from stock, payment needs to be made via Paypal as soon as you buy it. Personal cheques drawn from UK banks are fine for payments on custom orders only.

If you'd like to order a custom item, I'm happy to negotiate payment terms with you, depending on what you're looking for. Generally, a 50% deposit is required once a design is agreed, and the balance plus postage costs are due on completion.

If the order is for a short notice custom creation (required within 2 months) then I generally ask for full payment up front, although this is open to negotiation for orders over £100.

If you need to cancel an order for a stock item, just let me know - as long as I haven't sent it you, I'm happy to refund you in full.

Cancellation on a custom order is a little different - the deposit payment will be used to purchase all materials specific to your personal design, so cant be refunded. And the completed piece will have been tailored to your own requirements so will not generally be something suitable for other clients, and is not therefore something I can usually offer for general sale if you need to cancel the order once its been started.

I appreciate that for a custom order to have been cancelled, there must have been something fairly drastic going on, so I will try to be as flexible as possible. For all custom orders totalling under £100, no refunds are possible. If your total custom order was over £100 then a partial refund may be possible, depending on how far the order has progressed and the degree of personalisation involved.

Shipping

With effect from April 2013, the UK postal service massively increased its postage costs, and unfortunately I have had to pass a percentage of these costs on.

My postage charges assume standard First Class/airmail postage for items under £20 in value, and fully trackable Airsure or Recorded Delivery for all other products. If you would prefer not to pay the extra costs for the trackable and insured service, please let me know and I will set you up a custom listing.

I will always provide you with the tracking number too, so you can follow the progress of your parcel.

Refunds and Exchanges

It is my goal for you to be completely delighted with your purchase from Binding Ties.

If for any reason you are not 100% happy with anything, please let me know immediately so the issue can be resolved.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Where item descriptions refer to any metal elements as 'silver', they will be silver plated, lead and PB free. Due to the escalating costs of silver, they will not be sterling silver unless stated otherwise.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED AND ISSUED BY BINDING TIES ARE SUBJECT TO UK LEGISLATION, AND AS SUCH SO ARE ALL PURCHASES.
