All my jewelry is made out of butterflies that we breed. None of them is in danger of extinction, only if their natural habitat disappears. That is what we do: Protect land for their survival, and show the beauty of our Natural Resources worth protecting.

About

Butterfly Jewelry - Butterfly Habitat Conservation.

If you have ever visited a Butterfly House perhaps as part of a Conservatory, Zoo, Natural History Museum, Botanical Gardens, or the like, farms like ours in the Tropics around the world are the suppliers of butterfly pupae for such places. Since 1989, my husband, who is a trained ecologist, directs the farm operation, the breeding, the research, the wardens for the Private Forest Reserve, and infinite incredible tasks and also gives me all his support. On my side, i also work full time on my butterfly farm, the pupae export, the butterfly release in my country and lately also in butterfly wing jewelry, with the rest of tasks that having an Etsy shop implies, photographing, describing, translating, shipping...
The idea of making jewelry with butterfly wings started when someone gave me a pair of Chinese real butterfly earrings. By that time, I had been hoarding butterfly wings for years, about twenty years, unable to trash them, when i found the butterflies that died naturally in our breeding areas and surrounding gardens and forests. I had made and sold some products locally, such as trays, tables, etc and i had been keeping the wings all together by the buckets and in a real mess. So i realised that for jewelry purposes, i had to start sorting them and finding the pairs for making the earrings. It ended up being a huge task that kept me busy and very entertained for weeks! While doing this, i immediately started gathering wings of the same butterflies together from the beginning! I started to find out more about resins, acrylics, polyesters and so on, and trying by myself through trial and error. I think i succeeded only because i insisted neurotically until i was happy with the result. At first i never thought about opening a shop at Etsy. I only had a small local shop, which i still have. I became a member of Etsy as a shopper at first because every time i was looking for something on the web, the best choices were Etsy suppliers for the jewelry project i was carrying out. Then i observed that i could sell items as well, so i just tried, for the fun of it; i took my photos, and in about five weeks i had sold my first item! I was not expecting it at all and it gave me enourmous joy! Since then i have had fun on Etsy and i feel i have found a community of great artists, artisans and wonderful and inspiring people with whom to share interests and experiences.

Shipping
All shipments are made through the Oficial Post Office service of El Salvador (one of the best around the world). Depending on where you are, shipments take approximately ten business days . Normally, United States, Canada and the EU 10 business days. Asia and Australia, up to 20 business days. HOWEVER: At times of heavy postal activity, such as as Christmas and New Year, (Second half of November and ALL month of December) shipping usually takes longer than usual, or during weather conditions that stop the normal transit of airplanes, etc.
I will ship to the address that appears at ETSY and Etsy Orders only.
The packing used is a manila envelope and inside, your accessory will be packed to go relatively protected through normal mail travelling conditions. It does not have special stamps or seals other than postage stamps, which will reflect the shipping cost. I use inner re purposed or recycled packaging for less impact on the environment. If you want another type of shipment, such as express mail , or if you want to use an insurance, let me know BEFORE purchasing, using exclusively private messages (convos) here at Etsy.
Normal shipping charge indicated clearly on each product DOES NOT INCLUDE A TRACKING CODE. If you want a tracking code, i have added an upgrade option in the shipping section so you can have a tracking number.
In Latin America there are several dates considered holidays and a couple of times these holidays are quite extensive, as it is the case of Easter holidays and in
El Salvador, the August holidays. In these periods, Post Office closes for a week and won't open until the next. Then, i could not send the items immediately, but until the the post office opens again, but will let you know through the main shop heading and a personal message.
Refunds and Exchanges
I always try my best to make customers 100% satisfied. All my items are handmade and they will occasionally have some detail which is not considered a flaw, but any product which in your opinion is defective, i will replace it if it is returned in the condition in which you received it. You should contact me immediately after receiving it and i will not cover the expenses of shipping it back to us . When the item arrives back, we will refund all money paid or replace with another item, according to your preferences or availability of the product, since some accessories are unique and i can only make them once. We can gladly speak additional details or questions EXCLUSIVELY through the Convos within Etsy.
Other than that, the only reason why we will refund payment is if you get an article different from which you chose. As a small artisan, i cannot become responsible for eventualities in the mail or that your item does not arrive for any reason unrelated to us once i have shipped you item. If there is damage or loss, contact the carrier, no refunds in those cases, again, If you would like to pay separate shipping insurance, let me know before purchasing the item to calculate and to include the value of the insurance in your final order.
