I'm disappointed to see we couldn't resolve your concerns outside of a negative review. The wire hardware cloth you are concerned for is listed directly from the manufacturer as, "an ideal material for pet cages, small animal enclosures", also, "this hardware cloth will resist rust and weather the test of time". These reasons are why we can confidently use this material on our feeders.
