I will be away from my shop until October 20th. I'll have new inventory for the holiday season, so check it out then!
We see an end to the pandemic, so, once the pandemic is past, I can offer classes to learn needle felting on request- if you are interested, just send me a note! The ideal class size is 6; participants can choose a kit and since the kits come with all the materials to complete a project, if it is not finished in class, just take it home for the finishing touches!
I had a great response at the Topsfield Fair with so many learning how to needle felt! I look forward to seeing your completed projects-send me a photo!
Art shows, festivals, and craft fairs are a great place to see my work in person. I usually demonstrate needle felting and have supplies so kids age 6 to 90+ can try needle felting. Events I often participate in include:
~Grow Spring Expo in Topsfield in March
~Family Fun Day, Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Topsfield MA, 1st Sunday in June
~Art in the Barn (for the Essex County Greenbelt Association) in Essex MA, early June
~Topsfield Fair, at the Coolidge Building in early October, Topsfield, MA
~West Boxford (MA) Winter Festival in December
-'Gifts from the Forest' at the Ipswich River Audubon in Topsfield in December
Check out the kits to help you explore this exciting new medium. Purchasing a kit is a great way to enjoy learning needle-felting, but be warned, it is addicting!
I have designed the kits so that someone who has never tried needle felting will create a piece of art to be proud of! When you finish your needle felting project, you should feel confident enough to purchase your own supplies and enjoy creating your own design from the many resources listed within the kit. The foam block and felting needles provide the basics tools, but additional fiber may be required for more projects. This is a great medium to express your artistry!
Here, at my Etsy Shop, you have seen many birds - Bluebirds, Carolina Wrens, Owls, Chickadees, Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Cardinals, Goldfinches, Hummingbirds and more. Each bird is unique, carefully crafted to the scale they are found in nature. Framed pieces can be 8x10, 5x7 or 4x5, most frequently made by request. Larger birds (Pileated Woodpeckers, Barred Owls, Loons and Wood Ducks, for example) are best framed.
Just ask, and I will make a custom design and send it to you after you approve the final product. Each sculpture I make is unique - if you love a particular one, don't wait to make it your own!
