It all started in a toy store . . .
It all started in a toy shop at the end of the Ginza shopping district in Japan. Kawaii mameshiba (bean dogs) plushes, bejeweled pencils, and octopus flavored caramels - this store had it all!
Several hours and three shopping baskets later, I walked out with two miniature food kits. "You're never going to use those," my brother rolled his eyes. And he was right . . . at least for a few months.
One boring August day, I whipped out my clay kit and made a chocolate bar just so I could tell my brother I used the kit. (How I wish I kept that first charm!) This artistically challenged gal who could barely draw stick figures and nearly flunked ceramics class actually created something cute!
My husband and I signed up for our first craft fair in October 2010, and to my surprise, we nearly sold out our entire stock!!! In January 2011, I was able to quit my day job and have been devoting myself to Bit of Sugar ever since.
Our products can now be found in stores around the world, from Fiji to France.
Lei is the co-founder and Creative Director for Bit of Sugar.

Brad is a co-founder of Bit of Sugar and manages the logistics and staffing for all craft fairs. He is also the craftsman who builds and decorates our custom displays.
Accepted payment methods
Please remember that all items are handmade and it takes 3-5 business days (Monday through Friday) for us to create your item. Although rare, it can take up to 10 business days to create your item.
WHEN WILL MY ITEM SHIP?
Items are shipped Monday through Friday via USPS first class mail. Items ship within 3-7 business days of receiving ALL the information necessary to create your item, i.e. color selection.
- US Customers: Please allow 3-5 business days AFTER your item has been marked as shipped
- International Customers: Please allow 5-21 business days after we mark your items as shipped. WE DO NOT SHIP TO ITALY.
ADDITIONAL SHIPPING INFORMATION
During the check out process you will have the opportunity to enter your shipping address in both Etsy and Paypal. Please note that we only ship to the address that is listed in Etsy. Please message us if your shipping address differs than what is listed in Etsy.
We all know the post office isn't perfect (and neither are we) - please contact us if your item does not arrive in a reasonable amount of time, if the box is damaged, if the item is damaged during shipping, etc.
We are flexible, we will work with you, and we want to help you!
Refunds and Exchanges
- Unworn, unused merchandise can be returned within 90 days of purchase Sorry, but there are no refunds/exchanges for digital items.
- Refunds will be in the original form of payment that was used or as a store credit - it's your choice
- Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs (unless the mistake was on our part, of course!)
If you have any concerns, just contact us - we'll work it out! A happy customer is far more valuable than a $10 ring.

I live in Hawaii. Can I pick up my item?
You may pick up your item at our next scheduled craft fair and you will not be charged shipping or delivery fees. Sorry, no meet-ups.
