About

Lover of all things Native, Animal and Natural.

BlackBearsBazaar began after decades of crafting and arts created for family and friends. I became permanently disabled in 2001 and had a serious need to expand my creative outlet. So here we are!

I am of Choctaw, Scots, and German descent. I follow the good Red Road of my Indigenous American roots, by choice, and because of my love for the people, the customs and traditions, and of all things natural. I believe whole heartedly that my gifts from Creator are meant to be shared.

I have been fortunate enough to have seen much of our world. Those experiences not only educated me more than any books could, but stimulated my senses and love of creation. I have loved art work since I was a tiny tot and working with my hands ...
that will never change.

I have worked with many mediums and found that the diversity of various mediums is a true joy I focused for a long time on gemstone jewelry, which is evident in my current inventory, but am now including some of my other work in leather, pelts, bone, and antler, as well as wood, and glass items, photography, and I'm finally painting again!

I am a one woman operation and am happy to do all I can to make your shopping experience a pleasant one. I also love the challenge of custom orders so please contact me if there is something special I might be able to create for you.

My creative education never ends as I am always learning new techniques and skills to enhance my abilities to share lovely items with others.

I am also an active advocate for all animals (domestic and wild) and Native American rights. Living simply and respecting our world are what make me who I am. I love the peace of "being" that I have found living in my rural surroundings. It allows for soul searching and spiritual thought, imagination and creativity. Love and Respect to our Earth and all it's Life are my first priority.

My free time in good weather is spent riding my Harley in either charitable events or on my own down through the beautiful countryside where I often gain inspiration for my work from nature. It refreshes my spirit. Click on the photo named Kana for a bit of background information :)

Kana is Choctaw for Grace. I come from a mixed heritage and I have pride in every bit of it. I chose long ago to follow The Red Road spiritually and traditionally. My love of nature and all living things brings passion to my work and creativity.

With custom pieces you may request a particular type of charm (ie:butterfly, animal, heart, common symbol, etc) , pendant stone, and main gemstone bead, The style of closure, and the length of the piece. Anything beyond that in the design will be through my artistic interpretation. Exact desires cannot always be perfectly met. Try as I might.

I can create many various styles of leather items. Paintings are done on items available (bone, wood, leather, canvas, etc) Once completed and approved by you I will set up a reserve listing in your or your shops name :)
