This item is exactly as described. I bought a box to see how they would last for my wedding. They are holding up beautifully; maintaining their greenness and texture! I am going to order another box to incorporate more into the boutonnieres!

About

Growing Hops on the Family Farm

My family began growing hops several years ago as an experiment to see if we could develop a specialty crop on our 4th generation family farm. Would they grow in our climate? We knew that wheat, corn, soybeans and pumpkins would, so why not hops?

This experiment proved successful and we have expanded to over 1800 plants on two acres of land tucked away in the back corner of our 400 acre farm here in West Michigan.

We tend them daily in the spring and summer - watering, pruning, stringing, weeding, harvesting, drying, marketing. It is hard work but we like it. We enjoy listening to and watching the wildlife that cohabitates with us on our farm. On the weekends, we frequently have lots of help from our adult children and friends. We congregate on the farm for good work, good food and good beverages.

We started out selling the hops for home brewing, but we are continually expanding our product line, gradually, thanks to requests from etsy customers and suggestions from family and friends.

If you would like to read more about this "hop journey" that we are on, we invite you to read our blog which chronicles the ups and downs of establishing our hop yard over the past several years.

After 30 years of adulthood and all of the happenings that go with it, I am back where I spent my childhood, the family farm. I have a wonderful husband and three adult children who enjoy helping on the farm. I am an accountant in the winter months.
