About

An Abundance of Bun

My grandma taught me to knit when I was nine-our first project was knitting covers for wooden coat hangers. I saw my first spinning wheel in action while at a knitting convention in 2010, and soon after my fingers began to long for the feeling of fiber flowing freely through them. The next logical step was researching a source of growing my own fiber; as it turns out, Angora rabbits, who are ridiculously cute, have charming personalities in addition to making fabulous spinners' companions. In the summer of 2012 Ollie Oliver Nocturna Bun Halen, the Black Purl, joined our household. And so the Bun and I begin our journey of sharing the fiber we love so much.

Thank you for stopping by my shop! Take a break from your day to get lost in the colors and textures of my wares.

Handspun yarns are spun on my Ashford Kiwi double treadle spinning wheel or on a drop spindle. My workshop in south-central Wisconsin is a smoke-free zone, and three cats and an Angora rabbit supervise my spinning.
Wooden goods are turned on a lathe in a smoke-free workshop in northern Wisconsin, closely supervised by one feline friend.
