About

Luxury handspun yarn, breed specific wools and handmade wearables to delight your inner artist.

I am a late blooming fiber artist. Having worked most of my life in different occupations and always for someone else, I had always longed to work for myself; to be my own boss. You know the old saying, be careful what you wish for? Well, an injury at work combined with other health concerns eventually forced me to retire earlier than I had anticipated, but had that not happened when it did, I might never have discovered my love of fiber... so for that I am very grateful.

Sitting at home with nothing to do, I taught myself to knit and crochet as a way of filling the time and keeping myself busy. A few years later that love of knitting and crochet evolved into a desire to learn to spin my own yarn. I borrowed a few books from the library and taught myself to spin on an inexpensive wooden drop spindle.

It wasn't long at all before I moved on... purchasing my very first spinning wheel, a Lendrum single treadle that I have fondly named Daisy. I've since purchased a old Cowichan-style wheel for spinning bulky art yarns, a Babe e-spinner for plying larger skeins, a drum carder, and have further expanded my knowledge by venturing into hand dyeing. My most recent purchase was my rigid heddle loom which I am slowly getting to know, and I hope to eventually list some of my woven items in the shop as well.

I spend most of my time spinning, dyeing and weaving, and knit when I am able. I occasionally crochet although that has become harder to do with the arthritis. When my health prevents me from doing these things, I spend my time planning the next fiber project.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I am proud to be able to share my creations with you, and I hope you find something in my shop that helps you discover your inner artist :)

How do I use a Coupon Code?

After you have added an item to your cart, and before you check out, on the right hand side underneath the payment options, you will see a blue link that states "apply shop coupon code". Click this and a box will pop up where you can type in the code. Click "apply code", just below the box, and your discount will be shown. Then simply check out as usual.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a coupon code, it MUST be entered during checkout. Please note that I cannot honor coupon codes after the transaction has been made (this includes coupon codes that are entered into the "notes" section of the transaction). Coupon codes are not valid towards the purchase of gift certificates or custom orders.
