The Back Story
I remember multiple experiences around the holidays, shopping for décor, stationery, greeting cards, etc. to display my thoughts or creative expression, only to be stuck with a character of a different skin tone or even better, something with a basic phrase such as “Merry Christmas”. No black Santa, no black babies, no black couples, NO BLACK NOTHING! One Christmas, it finally occurred to me, why not be the change I wanted to see and create a venue to bring products to people who look like me and to those who are inspired by black culture?
That’s when the idea transpired to create Black Wrapped L.L.C! Founded on January 20, 2020, this company was created based on my vision of bridging the gap between people of color and the stationery industry. Funded as a side hustle while working in a career as a full-time Occupational Therapist, the goal was to one day be able to retire from my job and fully pursue my dream of giving black people, the #1 consumer, products created specifically for us!
