Announcement    Welcome to Blackberry Heritage Fibers at BHF! Proud members of the "Shave 'Em to Save 'Em" Livestock Conservancy project for which all our Cotswold, Shetland, Teeswater and English Leicester Longwool products qualify! We raise Icelandic, Shetland, Romney and Cotswold sheep, with care and love, specifically for the highest quality fleece. We hand process our fibers and also support small, local artisanal mills. You won't believe the softness and handle of our Icelandic yarn compared to typical Lopi! We process, blend and hand-paint our fibers to bring out the best qualities in our fleece. Keep a look out for specials from when we visit UK farms to pick the best fleeces from less common sheep breeds. I will only sell products that I would choose to use myself and my customers' satisfaction is my highest priority. Please take a look around, leave a comment, or ask a question!

About Blackberryicelandics

Sales 155
On Etsy since 2010

Know where (and who!) your fiber comes from! Thank you for checking out our store and please stay safe, from our flock to yours.

Blackberry Heritage Fibers was born from our commitment to show the depth and diversity of Heritage Breeds of sheep from Iceland and Britain.  We are a family farm in the Cascades of Washington State, USA, raising Icelandic, Romney, Cotswold and Shetland sheep.  The sheep are bred, fed and raised with low stress, gentle handling, for the highest quality of fleece. We practice sustainable agriculture, are largely chemical-free and are committed to protecting our environment.  We develop relationships with select rare and heritage breed shepherds to source the best quality fleeces we can find.  We, sometimes with the help of local artisanal mils, carefully prepare the fleeces as roving, top, batts, and yarn for sale on Etsy and at various fiber festivals.  Each yarn and fiber item from our farm is labeled with the individual sheep or group of sheepy friends who donated their fleece. We love to see what our talented customers craft from our products and also hear their suggestions to help us improve our service and develop future projects. So, keep us in the loop by following us on social media, or better still, drop by our stall at fiber fests!
