Two friends on a mission to find cool junk!
We Blackbird girls have been collectors for our entire lives, and meeting each other was like long lost sisters meeting. Everything just clicked into place -- we understand each other so well! When one of us falls in love with a piece of junk, you can bet the other one is right there with her!
Opening our Etsy shop in 2010 was the beginning of our dream, because it gave us an outlet to share our cool finds with the rest of the world. We wanted a shop of our own, and Etsy allowed us to have a shop that was open to the world! Instead of passing up things that we found on our travels, we get to pass them on!
We've traveled far and wide, and we still never get tired of digging to find treasures. We write about our finds on our blog, Four and Twenty (http://blackbirdantiques.blogspot.com/), and we share what we learn along our journey.
The Blackbird Girls
We are the Blackbird girls -- two best friends, roomies, and business partners that are obsessed with finding cool junk. We now have our own little vintage shop in Liberty, North Carolina. Stop by and see us if you're ever in North Carolina!

We will ship internationally, but please check the refunds and exchanges section for more info. International shipping amount will be added after we determine the shipping cost to your area. Convo us.
Refunds and Exchanges
We will gladly refund or exchange items that are damaged during shipping within the US. Things like that happen sometimes. Convo us within three days of receiving your order with a photo of the item's damage, and let us know how we can best help you.
We will not offer a refund or exchange for any other reason, ever.
Items shipped internationally cannot be returned or exchanged, and no refunds will be offered EVER. Order at your own risk. We will be as helpful as we can, but once it leaves us to travel the globe, it is gone.
Please know that we provide the most accurate measurements possible for vintage clothing. Use these measurements to determine if a garment will fit. If you need more detailed measurements, we will be happy to provide them. ***We will not offer a refund or exchange on clothing that does not fit.***
Additional policies and FAQs
Vintage clothing doesn't fit like modern clothing, which is cut with a looser shape to fit more sizes. The construction techniques used in the past decades are very different from today's techniques. Vintage clothing is cut much closer to the body, and the fabrics may have less give. You should allow enough in the measurements to move comfortably while wearing your vintage garments. You should always wear vintage with care, and take the age of the garment into consideration.
How we measure:
*Armpit to armpit: Measurement of across the back from armpit to armpit, when garment is laid flat. It is not doubled.
*Waist: Measurement of smallest part of waist when garment is laid flat, then it is doubled.
*Hips: Measurement of fullest part of hips when garment is laid flat, then it is doubled.
*Sleeve length: Measurement of length of sleeve from shoulder / shoulder seam to the hem of the sleeve.
*Bodice length: Measurement from the top of the shoulder to the bodice seam.
*Overall length: Measurement from the top of the shoulder to the lowest hemline.
*Circumference at hem: Measurement of the total circumference taken at the hem of the garment.
*Rise: Measurement from the center crotch to the waist of pants/trousers.
*Inseam: Measurement from the center crotch to the hem of pants/trousers.
