Knife Holders for Eco-Aware Cooks

Most active cooks invest in a few decent knives. Storing them can be a challenge. Counter blocks eat up prep space and leave you unable to see choices. Knives tossed in drawers are hard on fingers and blades.

There's a better way. Vertical surfaces. Walls. Refrigerator sides. Steel back splashes. Always at the ready.

This belief prompted me to experiment with designs, materials and processes. To search out earth-friendly materials. Investigate magnet types, shapes and configurations. Source beautiful natural stones and vintage glass. My final formula is:

+ sustainable base materials
+ industrial-strength neodymium magnets
+ variable mounting options
+ natural stones/vintage glass

Blade Catchers details:

>>> No trees killed <<<<
These knife holders are made from Plyboo, a plywood created with Moso bamboo. This super-fast grower resprouts after cutting, allowing plants to be harvested for years. Plyboo is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as a sustainably grown material. Plyboo is super dense and hard. In fact, it's used for kitchen counters and basketball court floors.
By contrast, hardwood trees take 60+ years to mature. Once cut, they are gone forever. And with climate change, we need all those big trees!

>>> Sharp blades stay sharp <<<<
Your knife blades never hit dulling metal (screws, rails or magnets) in our designs. No nicks or scrapes to mar your favorite knives.

>>> Fluid magnetic band <<<<
Blade-gripping magnets are snugged in tightly to eliminate dead spots. The entire bar face from within 1" of the sides holds knives.

>>> No unsafe fumes <<<<
Plyboo is made with a soy-based bond, not the usual formaldehyde-based adhesive. No off-gassing in your home and a safer product for the environment.

>>> Highest quality magnets <<<<
We use premium quality rare earth/neodymium magnets. Crazy strong, these magnets are in a completely different league than common household ones.

>>> Real stones and vintage glass <<<<
Inset semi-precious stones are jewelry quality. Also, cool vintage glass from Europe decorates some knife holders. No dyed and synthetic stones or endangered coral or ivory.

>>> Scratch-free backs <<<<
For magnetic-mounted styles, the beefy backside magnets sport cushioning silicone discs to avoid scratches, keeping your fridge sides pristine.

>>> Nut allergies? No worries <<<<
Knife holders are sealed with a hand rubbed food-safe finish that contains no nut oils (walnut, tung, etc.)

>>> Each unique <<<<
Made with natural bamboo, each knife holder displays its own grain pattern and color variations. Your knife holder isn't identical to any other.

Non-custom items that have been approved for return/exchange (7 days from receipt) must be returned within 14 days of receipt and in the same good condition as when shipped. Before shipping a return, confirm with us that a package is on it's way so we know to look for it.

Return shipping charges are the customer's responsibility.

Custom made and held-for-you custom listing items are not returnable.

On the rare chance that your item is damaged in transit (we pack well, don't worry), please convo me and we'll sort out the details. Rest assured that our goal is to get you the goods you purchased as quickly as possible and for you to be happy with the whole transaction.

Shipping
PLEASE, please check your shipping address to confirm that it is complete and current. We ship to the address provided and can't assume responsibility for delivery failures due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Likewise, we have no control over the security of a delivery site. If there's any concern about whether your home porch, front steps or apartment lobby are safe from theft, we are happy to ship to another address. Just let us know. Knife holders are shipped in boxes that are too long (25") to fit inside most mailboxes.

Packages are shipped within 1-3 business day following order receipt. Orders travel via USPS Priority Mail which typically takes 2-4 business days in transit to continental United States addresses.

Blade Catchers ships to the continental US only. Our knife holders are substantial and shipping weights make delivery fees elsewhere prohibitively high.
Additional policies and FAQs
If your purchase is a gift, feel free to include a gift message when you check out. And don't worry, packing slips do not include pricing information.

Note for Refrigerator Mounted styles - to adhere properly, these knife holders require both a ferrous metal surface (test with a household magnet) and a flat, not bowed, surface. Confirm this by laying a ruler horizontally on fridge side. Please test before ordering. For refrigerator sides that have a slight bow, test with your ruler closer to the top. Bowing is often not an issue there.
