About

The middle of three daughters, selling her dad's graceful glass, loving life and feeling blessed.

This shop is the collaboration between master glass artist Paul Labrie and his tech-savvy daughter Jessie Wagnon. Formally known as Eldest Daughter Glass, this shop is under new ownership (from one daughter to another) but it is still as awesome as ever!

Paul's glass business has always been a family affair, with his daughters selling glass from a very early age (in the womb). Paul's wife Grace was by his side since the beginning, cleaning glass and guiding her daughters as they sold from the Labrie Glass booth in art and craft shows. Honestly, who could resist a salesperson with big blue eyes and a winning smile? Especially when that sales person was only five and could explain, with ease, the ins and outs of glassblowing and lampworking.

Many years have passed since the summers of art shows, but one thing hasn’t changed: the integrity and beauty with which Paul Labrie captures the natural world. His beginnings as a scientific glass blower are evident in his symmetrical lathe work. His passion for nature is apparent in his strikingly accurate depiction of animals, and the sense of humor his family knows and loves shines through his whimsical pieces.

While the name of this shop, Wagnon Graceful Glass, speaks to the elegance of Paul's work, it is also named in honor of his wife, and Jessie's mother, Grace. Both of Jessie's parents are an inspiration to her. The summers of traveling across the country selling glass with the whole family are some of Jessie's favorite memories. Paul had an unbeatable sales-daughter whom he could pay with room and board, and Jessie got to do what she loved: sharing her Dad's art with the world. With the advent of internet commerce, it was only logical that they continue this symbiotic relationship on Etsy. Not to mention, Paul doesn't really like computers and Jessie grew up with one. So, Paul makes the glass, and Jessie sells it.

Enjoy! And don’t be afraid to chat with us. We try not to take ourselves too seriously.

    Owner, Marketer, Photographer

Jess owns the shop! She also types the words and takes the pictures all while chasing her kiddos. Paul is her Dad, she's the middle of 3 girls, and her childhood was anything but boring. Seriously, how many people can say their dad is a glassblower?

  • Paul

    Glass Blower, Wiseacre

Paul creates the beautiful glass art sold by Wagnon Graceful Glass. A scientific glassblower, transformed by the last 33 years, is now the self-taught, premiere artist you see today. His wife and 3 daughters may have contributed to that change too...

Returns and exchange details
The color and shape of your piece may vary slightly. But, hey, that’s why you’re purchasing on Etsy right? You want something handmade! Don’t worry though; Paul is a master artist, so his replicated items are pretty dang close to identical.

EXCHANGE: Sometimes a piece may not be exactly what you’re looking for. We understand. Let us know and we’ll see what kind of exchange we can work out.

SHIPPING BREAKAGE: Every item is packed with all the care and love we can communicate through bubble wrap and tissue paper. We guarantee our items will be shipped safely. However, we can’t monitor every single Post Office employee, and sometimes they have bad days just like the rest of us. So, if your piece arrives broken, notify us within 24 hours and we’ll make it whole.

LATER BREAKAGE: We know that sometimes a party gets a little out of hand, and heaven forbid you invite your clumsy friend with the knobby elbows.

Crazy Party + Knobby Elbows + Glass = Disaster!

If your piece breaks, please let us know. We’ll gladly take a look at the damage and repair it. Yes, you will have to pay a little bit of money, but it will be worth it.
Payment
Use either Direct checkout or Paypal. They both work for us!

SALES TAX: Since our store is located in the high desert of Richland, Washington, sales tax must be charged for WA customers. Sorry, that’s the rules.

A couple of important side notes (as in PLEASE READ!)
