Why not just make it in NYC ?
I have been selling my work on the street for 20 years. I started at The Key West Sunset Celebration in 1989. From there I traveled selling work on Grateful Dead tour for many years and fell into the Renaissance Faire circuit which I am still part of.
Having traveled all over the world selling my pieces I found myself living in NYC and selling on the street with a great community of artists in the East Village on Astor place. Katwise would pull her crazy colorful bus up and we really had a happening going. The NYPD under pressure from the East Village " business improvement district " BID shut it down in 2008.
Someone suggested selling on Etsy. With the help and encouragement of some good friends I opened my shop and it took off. It's been a wild ride.
I choose to produce the pieces in NYC because I can keep a tight control on quality and because some of the world's best carvers, casters and stone setters are all a few minutes away.
I'm truly grateful for the chance to make my work and have access to you, the collectors and supporters of this odd en devour.
