5 out of 5 starsI asked Caitlin whether she could make me a tiny scallop shell ring, and she delivered! This perfect, delicate little creature now rests happily on my ring finger, alongside her sand dollar and sea star rings, which I also have and love. I’m a huge lover of the ocean, and so to have such a pretty array of its symbols on my finger is not only important to me, but essential, so that I can carry the sea with me year round. Thank you so much, Caitlin!

About BlueDotJewelry
Capturing nature's intricate details in silver jewelry
My discovery and subsequent love of silver clay led to the creation of Blue Dot Jewelry. Silver clay is a delightful medium composed of microscopic particles of silver in a small amount of organic material. Once dried and fired in a kiln, only the pure silver remains.
The jewelry in my shop was made from original designs and real pieces of nature collected from botanic gardens, parks and trail hikes near home. Nature finds become silver in two ways: either they are pressed into a mold, which is then filled with silver clay, or the clay is thinned so it can be slowly painted right onto a leaf, built up layer by layer.
I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In 2006 I moved to NYC, then spent the next 10 years in Brooklyn, where Blue Dot was born on my studio counter. I now live and work with my husband and two kids in the Hudson Valley, where I continue to be inspired by the woods, gardens and beaches around us.

Shop policies
PHOTOS. Please note that all photos are taken with a digital macro setting, which makes items appear larger here than in person; be sure to read the measurements listed for each item.
SILVER CARE. All metals, with the except of pure gold and platinum, may eventually tarnish. To delay this process, I ship pieces inside a small tarnish-resistant plastic bag. These are designed to delay tarnish for up to two years.
In addition, I sell soft Sunshine polishing cloths, 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" for $2, which are recommended for silver care. The listing for cloths is here: http://etsy.me/WTzhoW
I fully guarantee my work for 6 months after purchase. Please be advised that fine silver is incrementally softer silver than sterling, and handling these pieces with care is recommended, as you would with any jewelry.
If you ever have a question or issue, please contact me. I'm available by Etsy messaging or at bluedotjewelry [!at] gmail.com. I try to respond always within 24 hours.
