I could not choose between two pencil cases and therefore ordered two pieces. You can change the mood. An excellent and neat work - I really liked. Fast shipping and delivery. Thank you.

About

Blue Jacaranda - made in Australia, with a Dutch accent!

Blue Jacaranda was born in July 2010, initially on Australian website MadeIt. In September 2011 I opened shop on Etsy.

The name comes from the tree (Jacaranda mimosifolia) with the gorgeous lilac flowers that lines the streets of Brisbane. I fell in love with those trees in 2007, the year we moved to Australia. The 'blue' is a reference to my Dutch roots - think Delft blue. I discovered later that the tree is actually called Blue Jacaranda!

I love textiles and all the items in my shop are made from some sort of fabric: cotton, wool, burlap... I make quilts, pencil rolls, table art, wall hangings, laptop sleeves and more.

I also love silk screen printing and stamping on fabric, drawing, and designing calligrams (word art). I combine these passions in making Art Cards, ACEOs, wall art and handprinted fabric which I sell here on Etsy.

I especially like to work with upcycled fabrics, such as burlap from coffee sacks and wool from thrift shop sweaters that I felt in the washing machine. I use them to create original items such as coffee quote cards, bookmarks, bookcovers and trivets.

I have had a number of art quilts juried into shows and published in books and magazines. As I do not have enough walls in my house to hang all my quilts, I will put a quilt up for sale every now and then.

Best wishes,
Linda
