Announcement   Welcome to the three times award winning Blue Lady Couture, where you can find your perfect, period-inspired outfit for that special ball, costumed event or historical festival. Whether you are looking for gothic, Victorian, steampunk or regency, Blue Lady Couture specialises in creating custom outfits for people who have a passion for the eras of elegance. All the outfits are handmade to a high standard by Joanna at her studio in Lincolnshire, England. These are not ‘fancy dress costumes’, but quality, period style garments that will require petticoats and padding to achieve the correct look. Many of the garments are made to order, allowing you to choose colour and style to suit. Occasionally there are ready to wear items in stock all made using the finest sourced fabrics, trims and vintage buttons.

I offer a beautiful range of corsets, skirts, jackets, trousers and elegant accessories for ladies and gents. Some are ready to ship while others are made to order, so please check each listing carefully for details. My items range from lovely traditional bridal styles to fantasy gothic and steampunk creations, whether you are getting married, off to a costumed ball, or just want to accessorise a more modern outfit.
If you can't find quite what you're looking for please convo me and I shall be more than happy to try and help. I can source a range of fabrics and there are so many different colours to choose from it would be impossible for me to list an item in every colour and finish!

I recommend you use a site like www.xe.com for an accurate currency conversion.

Thank you for looking at my shop! I hope you find what you're looking for, if not please ask - my motto is 'dare to dream!'

*LATEST NEWS!*
Shop owner Joanna Read has recently won TWO awards - Steampunk Chronicle Best Individual Designer AND Best Non-US Designer 2015. In 2014 she was also voted Best Individual Designer!

Many of the items listed are unique one-offs where I've used a gorgeous fabric find often teamed with vintage buttons- so once they're gone, they're gone. I also have loads of stunning fabrics tucked away in my store just waiting to be made! Other items made with plain coloured fabrics can usually be replicated in your size and chosen colour.

I love this Tartan Spencer Jacket. Nice work, exactly how I imagined. My next clothes I would made by BlueLadyCouture, again. Thank you so much for this perfect work! :-)

Absolutely superb. In the past we have ordered items for our retro wardrobe from the USofA, but think we will be looking towards Lincolnshire for orders in the future!

One of the lovely of lace trims that arrived this morning ready for this year's customers. Here it is on a taupe shantung Parlour Bustle.
The ladies Underbust Waistcoat is one of our most popular designs. This lovely version in red with black trim is off to it's new home.
Work in progress on a Grand Bustle comission in gorgeous red taffeta. Each bustle is draped and pinned by hand on the mannequin before being stitched in place.

About

Award winning steampunk designer of historical, vintage and alternative fashions.

I have been designing dresses and gowns for as long as I can remember and have been making them since graduating in 2006. I made my own wedding gown and felt confident to start making for others. I love history and fantasy so my designs are a whimsical mix of eclectic pieces that reflect my personality. I have a house full of vintage furniture and quirky decor pieces and I’m fortunate enough to have a spacious work room and customer fitting room. Two years ago I became fully self employed with the help of Etsy enabling me to reach a worldwide audience. Steampunk allowed me to embrace my creativity and bring my designs to customers all over the world, both steampunks and ordinary people who like the timeless vintage feel of my work. For two years running I have been voted Best Individual Designer by an online steampunk magazine and I have featured show piece collections on the catwalk at Europe’s largest steampunk festival. I am passionate about British design and creative small businesses, often collaborating with accessory designers and photographers. I am currently working on a long term range of showpiece photoshoots inspired by my love of fairytales.
