Blue Ribbon Boxes, operated by Sean Hickey (“I,” “me,” or “my”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how I collect, use, share, and retain your personal information when you purchase from my Etsy shop, contact me, or otherwise use my services.

Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you may provide me with certain information through Etsy, including:

• Your name
• Email address
• Shipping and billing addresses
• Payment-related information processed through Etsy
• Product selections and personalization details
• Photographs, artwork, logos, address numbers, or other files you submit for a custom order
• Messages and other communications you send through Etsy

I receive only the information Etsy makes available to sellers. I do not directly receive or store your full credit-card or bank-account information.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I collect, use, and share your information only when reasonably necessary to:

• Process, produce, personalize, ship, and support your order
• Communicate with you about an order, customization, delivery, return, or customer-service concern
• Provide services requested through my Etsy shop
• Maintain transaction, accounting, tax, and business records
• Prevent fraud, misuse, or other unlawful activity
• Comply with Etsy’s Seller Policy, Terms of Use, and other marketplace requirements
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or legal claims
• Improve my products and customer service when I have a legitimate business reason to do so

Where applicable, I rely on the following legal bases: performing my contract with you, complying with legal obligations, pursuing legitimate business interests, and obtaining your consent when consent is required.

I will not add you to an independent marketing email list without your consent.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

I share personal information only for limited business or legal purposes, including with:

• Etsy, as necessary to provide services through the Etsy marketplace and comply with Etsy’s policies
• Shipping and delivery providers, such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx, to deliver your order
• Payment processors used by Etsy
• Service providers that assist with order production, website operation, bookkeeping, accounting, or other essential business functions
• Legal, tax, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect my rights, customers, or business

Service providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their services.

I do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Custom Artwork and Submitted Files

If you provide photographs, logos, artwork, address information, or other files for a custom product, I will use them to communicate with you and complete your order. I will not use customer-submitted artwork or photographs for unrelated marketing without permission.

Finished products may be photographed for portfolio, shop-listing, or promotional purposes. I will avoid displaying private personal information, such as a customer’s full name or residential address, without permission. You may ask me before production not to photograph or publicly display your custom order.

Data Retention

I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

Order and transaction records may generally be retained for up to seven years. Custom design files and Etsy messages may be deleted sooner when they are no longer needed, unless continued retention is required for a legitimate business or legal purpose.

Transfers of Personal Information

I am located in the United States. If you live outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Information processed through Etsy is also subject to Etsy’s own privacy practices.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information I hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Restrict or object to certain uses of your information
• Receive a copy of certain information in a portable format
• Withdraw consent when processing is based on consent
• Appeal or submit a complaint to an appropriate privacy or data-protection authority

These rights may be limited when I must retain information to fulfill an order, comply with the law, resolve a dispute, or protect legal rights.

Children’s Privacy

My products and services are not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Security

I take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to protect personal information. However, no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy when my business practices, Etsy’s requirements, or applicable laws change. The effective date at the top will indicate the most recent revision.
