Announcement
“You have to live spherically - in many directions. Never lose your childhood enthusiasm and things will come your way" - Federico Fellini
If you need something in time for Valentine's Day please write. I do ship earlier than Etsy says, and please know this is a one person show here and my tea cozies have quite a following.
Bluebell and the Fox is moving into more sustainable packaging and as much organic flannel linings as possible. As I transition out of Tyvek, I am moving into compostable packages that are still waterproof.
My longer ship dates are due to an ongoing brain injury, with no end in sight. I thank you very much for visiting the shop! If there is an urgent need for something, please feel free to contact me and I will do my utmost best to accommodate you..
Affordable and whimsical tea cozies, coasters and napkins, children's and women's dresses, ascots and pocket scarves and who knows what might pop up? The lights are always on at Bluebell and the Fox!
If you see a fabric in one item but you want it in something else, please just ask, and maybe I can help. For clothing, let me know if you don't see the size you want. All dresses can be made as tops and elasticated skirts and for adults too if you see a child's print you love that too can be made especially for you with a custom order.

The evolution of Bluebell and the Fox
Bluebell and the Fox opened mid November, 2012. I am also a painter, but have sewn since I was a very young girl. I have always loved to make any number of different things. I began selling dresses when I was only fifteen, selling hand over fist Renaissance hippy dresses in a boutique in Carmel that was called The Golden Door. My paternal grandmother taught me to appreciate beauty and peacefulness and gave me a strong aesthetic education. My maternal grandmother was always knitting and embroidering and she taught me how to do these things. I have played with fabrics much of my life. I love making things that evoke childhood and so, a few years ago I began selling things as an alumni at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, where I had taken my degree in painting. I discovered I had a market for the things I am selling here in Etsy. It gives me great joy to bring a little more sweetness to the world during times of distress and upheaval. It is with a kind heart and warm gratitude to have an environment here that fosters creativity and whimsy. So, given that I also have a passion for cooking, it is kind of like soul food for the eyes to offer pretty, delicate, sometimes funny, sometimes poetic and romantic things that take one back in time to a place of innocence and wonder.
I use American, English, Japanese, Australian Aboriginal fabrics and support American made products as much as I can.
Feel free to ask for any kind of custom order and if I am able to oblige I will do my best.
