Ashes & Opals nació de una silenciosa atracción hacia las cosas que perduran.

Crecí rodeada de antigüedades: piezas transmitidas de generación en generación, cada una con una historia, un recuerdo, una sensación de tiempo irrepetible. Siempre me resultaron profundamente reconfortantes… el peso de la historia, la maestría artesanal, la sensación de que ya habían vivido una vida antes de llegar a la mía.

Con el tiempo, ese aprecio se convirtió en algo más intencional. Me sentí atraído no solo por preservar esas piezas de valor familiar, sino también por crear y coleccionar objetos que transmitieran el mismo espíritu.

Hoy en día, Ashes & Opals es una mezcla de ambos.

Diseño botas, bolsos y accesorios reciclados, dándoles una nueva vida a los materiales y creando piezas que se sienten a la vez usadas y únicas, auténticas obras de arte para lucir. Junto a ellas, exhibo antigüedades de mi propia familia y una cuidada colección de joyería vintage, que abarca desde piezas bohemias eclécticas hasta estilos inspirados en mediados de siglo y el viejo Hollywood.

Todo lo que se encuentra aquí está elegido o creado con un sentido de nostalgia, la elegancia del art nouveau y una apreciación por la belleza que se siente perdurable en lugar de efímera.

Esta tienda es más que un lugar para comprar algo: es un espacio para aquellos que se sienten atraídos por el significado, por las historias y por una forma de vida más pausada y consciente.

Ashes & Opals began as a quiet pull toward the things that last.

I grew up surrounded by antiques — pieces passed down through generations, each one holding a story, a memory, a sense of time that couldn’t be recreated. There was always something deeply comforting about them… the weight of history, the craftsmanship, the feeling that they had already lived a life before reaching mine.

Over time, that appreciation became something more intentional. I found myself drawn not only to preserving those heirloom pieces, but also to creating and collecting things that carried the same spirit.

Today, Ashes & Opals is a blend of both.

I design upcycled boots, bags and accessories — giving new life to materials and creating pieces that feel both worn-in and one-of-a-kind, wearable pieces of art. Alongside them are antiques from my own lineage and a thoughtfully gathered collection of vintage jewelry, ranging from eclectic boho finds to mid-century and old Hollywood–inspired styles.

Everything here is chosen or created with a sense of nostalgia, art nouveau elegance and an appreciation for beauty that feels enduring rather than fleeting.

This shop is more than a place to buy something — it’s a space for those who are drawn to meaning, to story, and to a slower, more intentional way of living.
