Für Menschen, die gerne basteln. Entwickelt von einem Tastaturbauer.
For People Who Love to Build, Built by a Keyboard Builder.
BoardsBe4Breakfast is a small shop for keyboard PCBs and parts: split ergo boards like the Corne, Egg58, Lily58, and Sofle, plus macropads and 40% through 75% boards too. There's usually more in storage or on the shelves than the front page lets on.
Everything ships out of Virginia, USA. No three-week wait for a board stuck on a boat somewhere.
Most of what I offer is bare PCBs, plus a handful of starter kits for anyone who'd rather not hunt down forty individual parts one at a time. Every so often I'll pre-solder a batch of sockets or diodes myself, and those show up when I've actually had time to sit down with the hot air station and soldering iron, so if you don't see one today, check back in a bit, or ask me.
I've been building keyboards for a few years now. The first one was a Lily58, and building just one split keyboard felt like a perfectly reasonable, contained little project at the time.
Somewhere around board number four or five, I stopped keeping count and just admitted this was a permanent hobby now, not a phase.
Since then I've put together 40% boards, more splits, a few macropads, 60s, 65s, 75s, tried out way too many switches, and ended up with more spare PCBs than any one person really has a reason to own.
If you can look at a bare PCB and already be picturing switches and keycaps on it before you've even paid for it, you'll fit in fine here.
I keep a build log (mostly up to date) at https://boardsbeforebreakfast.forestry.md/.
