My daughter will be starting her last year in middle school in a few weeks and I thought this would be a nice "back to school" surprise for her. She absolutely loves it! I thought it was pretty in the photo, but it is even more beautiful in reality. It arrived much sooner than I expected and was very nicely packaged. I will definitely buy from this shop again!
A housewife with a hobby...
Shop story below, but first, an announcement:
As of October 1, 2013, Etsy now allows factory-made goods to be listed as "handmade". Due to this change, I feel that Etsy is no longer a good fit for my business. You can find my made-by-my-own-two-hands handmade goods on Zibbet. http://www.zibbet.com/BokBokJewelry
I set up BokBok Jewelry on Etsy in March of 2012 while awaiting the arrival of my daughter. After talking it over with my husband, I had decided to leave my job in order to be a stay-at-home mom, but I felt bad about no longer contributing financially to the household. Enter Etsy.
When I was planning to go on maternity leave in late winter of 2012, I wanted to be prepared to have something to do so that I wouldn't spend all my time wondering when that darn labor was going to start. This wound up being a good thing, because as it happens, my due date was much earlier than what our kiddo had planned. :) Anyway, my husband had suggested I look into venues for selling jewelry, since making jewelry is something that I enjoy. He helped me set up a spreadsheet to track inventory (both materials and finished projects), and I've done everything else.
Fun fact about the shop name: it was inspired by a tale from my childhood. When I was very little (it was when my parents still had chickens, so I would've been a toddler), I had a pair of flip-flops with chickens on them. When I walked, the sound that flip-flops naturally make sounded like "bokbok" to me, just like the chickens on my shoes, and just like our actual, real-life chickens. Mom says that I used to run around, watching my feet, saying "bokbokbok" along with my shoes. Fast-forward to March 2012, when I was trying to come with my shop name. I wanted something short, fun, and memorable. Mom was recounting this tale, and BokBok Jewelry was born.
Right now, raising my kid is my day job, but once she's in school, I hope to elevate BokBok Jewelry from a hobby to a full-on business.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Photographer, Accountant, Creative Genius
I'm a stay-at-home mother of one. I've been making jewelry since 2000, starting with macrame and moving into chain and wire-working. I quit my day job at a grade school to take care of my baby, and started my Etsy shop to still contribute.

Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
You do not need a PayPal Account to pay for your items through PayPal. If you choose the PayPal Option during checkout, click the “Pay Now” button after you submit your order. Scroll down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card without having to sign up for a PayPal account.
If you need help with the checkout process, please refer to
http://www.etsy.com/help/article/339 or contact me for assistance.
After I've received payment, I package the items and ship them the next day that the post office is open. The exceptions to this are if I have a question for you, or if the item is custom or made-to-order.
I do not charge sales tax because I am in Oregon and we don't have sales tax here.
Currently, BokBok Jewelry is shipping within the United States through the United States Postal Service (First-Class). I also use tracking (formerly known as delivery confirmation).
If you'd like your package sooner, please let me know before you purchase the item. I will make a special listing, just for you, with faster shipping - but please be aware that the shipping cost will be higher, and the shipping price in your reserved listing will reflect that.
BokBok Jewelry is committed to an eco-friendly lifestyle. I was a little eco-warrior when I was a kid - at age 10, my big dream was to go to Madagascar and save the rainforests - and the three R's have stuck with me (recycle, reduce, reuse). As a result, I reuse clean packaging materials, and when I use new packing products, I look for ones made from recycled materials. The packing "filler" is subject to change, but may include tissue paper, bubble wrap, newspaper, and/or fabric.
Items are packaged in a box, then in a plastic bag for waterproofing, and optionally hand-wrapped in wrapping paper made from recycled materials and ribbon. Everything is padded - inside the waterproof bag, and inside the box.
Necklaces will be contained to prevent tangling before they are inserted into the box, when applicable.
Earrings are hooked onto a card before they are packaged.
The package will be shipped to you inside of a mailer with bubble wrap.
The price of shipping covers the packaging, the shipping, and tracking. Orders over $250 will require signature confirmation upon delivery, and the shipping price for those pieces will reflect that. You may elect to have their order shipped to an alternate address (ex. work) to expedite the signature confirmation process. If you are not at home when delivery is attempted, orders with signature confirmation may need to be picked up at your local post office.
Refunds and Exchanges
If the package is all dinged up, please take a photo before you open it. This will help document damage done during shipping. If the item is also broken or damaged, again, please take photos. When you request your refund by contacting me through Etsy's convo system, please link me to where I can see the photos.
Buyer is responsible for shipping fees both ways for returned or exchanged items unless otherwise negotiated and agreed upon in writing between buyer and BokBok Jewelry.
Any taxes and/or duty fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable.
Return authorization is required for custom items and is given at my discretion. Items that are not able to be resold for their original value are not eligible for return. If you have purchased a custom item and wish to request a return please contact me via Etsy's convo system.
Items must be returned in the same condition as you received it in order to receive the refund, and must be sent with postal tracking. Please package the item for the return trip with care.
If the item is damaged, I may be able to repair it for you. I will charge for major repairs, but not for minor repairs (buyer pays shipping both ways). Before returning the item to me, please take pictures of the item to show me the damage, and I will tell you if it will be a major or minor repair before you send it back. From there, you can decide if you want the repair or not. I will only repair items from BokBok Jewelry.
If you don't receive the package in a timely manner, please contact me - again, through Etsy convo. I will contact the post office on your behalf to track down your package.
Additional policies and FAQs
Due to changes in the feedback system, if you choose to buy from me or any other Etsy seller, Etsy will be sending you an email asking for you to review the item you just purchased. Please note that this email is auto-generated by Etsy, not by BokBok Jewelry, and leaving feedback and reviews is 100% optional.
Please also be aware that if you choose to leave feedback, your Etsy username will be displayed with your feedback. I respect your privacy and will not at all ask you to leave feedback. I apologize in advance on behalf of Etsy for any inconvenience caused to you by the new feedback system.
Colors may vary slightly from monitor to monitor - pieces may be brighter or darker than shown, or the exact shade of pink (for example) may be different in the photo than it is on the piece. If you have a question about the color of an item, prior to purchasing, please send me a convo. I can mail you a paint card, free of charge, that matches the color in the piece.
All items from BokBok Jewelry are from a smoke-free, dog-inhabited environment. I keep my work station where my dog cannot reach, but dog hair has a way of traveling where it shouldn't.
The jewelry offered by BokBok Jewelry is not intended for children unless otherwise noted in the individual item listing. I make my jewelry to be as durable as possible, but I've seen some very strong and determined kids in my time, and I do use a lot of small parts.
BokBok Jewelry reserves the right to refuse a sale to anyone with a history of abusive feedback and/or malicious behavior towards other Etsy members.
