Custom orders accepted, but please note due to the nature of our work there is a longer wait time for all hand crafted custom orders.

Wax works wonderfully and they came in cute pumpkin shapes! Plus, I only ordered one wax puck and got two. After talking to the seller they said they did it as a courtesy. Thank you, very happy!

This was the last bit of my Harry Potter costume that I wore to my brother's wedding. Needed something to carry all my muggle s**t in, without having to resort to pockets. It ended up working well. I probably got a size too small (or I should have remembered I was going to have to shove a ring-box in with my wallet, keys, and phone) but it ended up fine, though I'm thinking maybe a brown over the black leather would have worked out better. Anyways, would buy from them again.

Just got my new arrows and they look great. I won't have a chance to fire them until the range thaws out, but I'm excited!

The Stick & The String

Bold Archery Design was born through a great deal of chaos and confusion. My husband Joseph Frye, bowyer and craftsman behind it all, started building bow's as a means to feed himself as a young boy living in the swamps of Florida.
In 2005 we met as we started in the S.C.A (Society for Creative Anachronisms), pleased to meet groups of people from around the world who shared our passion for a primitive and historical lifestyle, we both delved back into our roots as Archers. Since joining the Society Joseph held the East Kingdoms highest ranking archers position winning all the Kingdoms archery awards as well as Baronial Champion year after year. While in the SCA he quickly became an Archery Marshal teaching and maintaining safe archery ranges at numerous events. He taught hundreds of all ages to be skilled archers or to improve their skills and expand on them.
He went above and beyond anyone could have imagined by teaching himself how to build period correct English Longbow's and would give them away to anyone who was interested in archery. After a few years of this his skill grew and expanded from building wood bow’s, being a fletcher and string fellow to knapping glass and stone into arrowheads & more. As a leather smith he prides himself on his ability to recreate historical piece's that anyone would be thrilled to add to their archery ensemble.
Joseph still feeds his family with his skill as an archer and woodsman.
Before the SCA his professional career was and still is widely varied, from Martial arts instructor to skilled carpenter, now also an EMT. We teach and work out of our homestead in Jeffersonville and enjoy the hedonistic life the Upper Delaware Valley provides.
