Have you ever received a gift that changed your life?

On my 18th birthday I was given a yoga mat and DVD. At the time yoga was still kinda strange but I was open to trying it because I wanted that lean yoga bod.

It didn’t take long for me to realize yoga wasn’t just exercise. The practice became my therapy. I had less anxiety, more confidence, a happier mindset, made healthier choices and developed an overall respect for my body, my life and all life.

Since then, I’ve found myself in teacher training after teacher training. The hours spent sitting on the floor along with my growing affinity for restorative practices gave me a huge appreciation for props. These support tools provide invaluable insight into where tension is stored and they create stability so the nervous system can relax. In asana and beyond, props provided comfort & support so I could stay present for myself and others. Together with my sangha, they were like sweet little space holders.

That’s when the vision of Bolstered emerged. Synchronistically, I was gifted a hand-me-down sewing machine and I learned to sew.

And sew it is.

All Bolstered products are lovingly handmade and fashioned with upcycled materials.

My mission with Bolstered is to
1) provide tools and guidance that help people settle deeper into themselves
2) take care of our planet by recycling & repurposing. (Did you know, 95% of the 13 million tons of textile waste produced each year could be reused or recycled?!)
3) support causes that uplift communities with yoga
