Thank you Ms Leigh

BonCreationz has come a long way. I was not terribly academic at school and spent most of my time on the sports field or in the art room. In my first year of high school in South Africa, my art teacher Ms Leigh gave us each a bisque mug to paint. (I still have it, its awful ; ) I thoroughly enjoyed to project, got high marks and became addicted. I discovered a shop close to where we lived that sold everything needed to be able to paint at home as well as a glazing and firing service.

My father became intrigued by what could be done and soon got hooked too. My dad was a shoe designer at the time and of course could make wonderful things (he still does!). We started painting together as a hobby and as he was a bit of a workaholic, this was my bonding time with him when he was home. We left South Africa in 2001 and were at a loss as to what to do on the Isle of Man so we started up a "Paint your Own" studio. Which is still thriving. We worked together on and off for 4 years before I moved to be with my fiance in Holland.

After 5 years of being in the Netherlands, I discovered to my utter joy another shop just down the road selling bisque, glazes and kilns. I got my own kiln in May last year and set up a small home studio. I am now painting fulltime and have an official company.

I now spend my days running a "paint your own pottery studio" called Paint + Create and my evenings and weekends painting, listing and doing custom orders for BonCreationz.
