Good to go
I love to create beautiful things to wear and collect vintage jewelry.
After a 10 year career in graphic design, I chose to stay at home when my children were born. During those early years I did a lot of soul searching. I found that what I really love is being in a workshop and creating things with my hands (much more than I than ever enjoyed sitting in front of a computer!). I took a 3 part course on silversmithing and that inspired me to keep learning everything I could about jewelry fabrication. Once the kids started going to school I was able to dive into more classes and education.
Now that I have a full workshop I am able to use a variety of techniques in my jewelry making. I particularly love working with precious metal clay (PMC). It is challenging but I am so happy with the end result. I have a full torch set up, rolling mill and kiln. If only I could find more time!
The kids are still keeping me busy (especially now) but when I'm free I dream of jewelry.
