An Attempt to Finish a Legacy...
My family has a long line of quilting women to be thankful for. My grandmothers introduced me to making Christmas ornaments, sewing doll clothes, crocheting, knitting, painting, and crafting anything that could be adorned with glitter. This was all leading up to the final project, learning how to quilt. Both of my grandmothers passed away early in my life, too early to teach me the final lessons. So after I graduated college, I set out to learn how to quilt on my own. I'm embarassed to admit that I have learned to quilt...on a machine...but I have learned to quilt! My first daughter was born and I completed my first quilt for her. It had terrible edges, beautiful colors, and it still makes me smile every time I see the pink and orange fish sticking out from her bookshelves. Watching her grow up filled me with tons of inspiration, and at the same time, an intense need to protect my furniture. She always wanted to be on the floor so I kept thick fleece blankets under her at all times to keep her clean, comfortable, and to divert spills and accidents. But the fleece blankets were unattractive, cumbersome, and hard to wash. My first Whoopsie blanket trial was made with a mattress protector in the center. It worked!...Except for that wonderful crinkly sound. I went on a mission to find an alternative and succeeded. The business part started about a year later. Moms would ask me about the blankets at Day Care, the Doctor's Office, and at the Park. Suddenly, I had a business. Two years later, my blankets are being given at baby showers all over the world and I am still smiling at the ragged edges of my first quilt sticking out from my first grader's bookshelves.

A little about me:
First and foremost, I am a mom. As cliche' as that sounds, becoming a mother has changed my entire perspective on life. The confidence and humility that you learn as a parent makes you cherish every moment and aspire to live a better life. After my first daughter was born, I was disappointed at the quality and design asethetics of baby gear. I had learned to sew when I was a teenager and had been crafty ever since, so I started designing and making modern baby quilts. My quilts got alot of attention from family and friends. And so it began...
