Beautifully handcrafted and cleverly designed. The owners of the shop were extremely accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Shipped on time and well packaged. I'd love to buy from this seller again!

Beautiful, very well-made, super fast shipping. My daughter is weak on her left side, and this has already been a great help to her. Seller was very accommodating and helpful, and communication between us was great. So far, this size is perfect for the books that she reads most often in school and at home. Thank you so much!

More agate chips and almost agates available! I found a secret stash in a box in the back of a closet that had been collected years ago, moved across the country and back, and now they've been added to the pile.

About

Necessity is the mother of all invention

Life in the woods is rich and full and lends itself to many passions: nature, reading, making, being.

I like to read and sometimes, I like to take a dish of ice cream to bed and read. But, it's hard to keep a paperback novel open while eating a dish of ice cream in bed, so I invented a cover for paperback books that gently holds them open... and months later, realized they could also be used for hardcover books.

I also like to make things and I am a great collector of natural items when I'm out walking around in the woods where I live. We are now beginning to list some of that collection and will keep adding to it. (Colette)

Together we bounce around ideas and we've been keeping our eyes open for a few vintage finds we think are worth sharing. Our basic rule about vintage items is simple: if we don't want to end up having it in our house, we don't acquire it for the shop.

Kathlyn's focus thus far has been with vintage items - something that comes naturally from her experience of assisting her parents with an antique shop for several years. As one of the oldest grandchildren, I probably have the most memories of that shop and too, enjoy finding just the right vintage items.

Sizing details

Book holders are sized with the most commonly available paperback book sizes in mind:
-Mass-market are smaller paperbacks, usually popular fiction: mysteries, romance, thrillers, etc.
-Trade sizes are larger, but still smaller than most hardcover books. Both sizes will hold hardcover books as long as they are not larger than the holder. Please check each listing for the specific sizes the cover will hold.
-Oversize and special size book holders are available upon request. -Juvenile size is also available, please inquire if none are currently listed.

Care instructions

The fabric is permanently attached to book boards and may only be gently spot cleaned, so we use darker fabrics. Light colored fabrics tend to get dirty.
