All of my wooden bowls, vases, hollow forms, boxes and wood carvings, are hand turned, hand carved, and made by me. I love wood and have always been fascinated by the unique features of each individual piece. I started carving wood when I was just old enough to have a pocket knife and my love for shaping wood grew from there. The act of taking a raw log, that might be firewood or rot away on the ground, and turn it into something beautiful is deeply satisfying. You never know what you are going to get until the wood and imagination come together. I hope you enjoy my selection of wooden hand turned, hand carved pieces. Thanks!

I was pleased to receive my bowl so quickly! The piece itself is lovely - graceful lines, gorgeous colors and smoother than silk texture. It's a Christmas gift and I'm eager to give it - I feel certain my mother will enjoy it immensely.

About

Wyoming Woodturner and Carver making and selling my usable art, wooden bowls, vases and Woodcarvings all hand made here in Jackson Hole Wyoming

I have always loved the outdoor life that we all enjoy here in Wyoming. I grew up on a Guest ranch, completely surrounded by Grand Teton National Park. We had the best back yard possible. I spent much of my youth taking wilderness pack trips in the Teton Wilderness. I've spent countless hours on a horse and observing wildlife and the beauty that mother nature provides. Many long hours around a campfire gave me time to whittle and carve many little, bears, horses, wolves, boats and people with my pocket knife. Shop classes in school got me excited about turning and general woodwork. I worked for several years (and still do) as a carpenter and realized I was drawn to finish carpentry and furniture making. My father took my brother and I to a woodturning class a few years ago and it was an instant addiction. There is something deeply gratifying in the process, creation and constant learning process that goes along with working on a lathe with wood. Wood in its many, many variations continues to draw me in and fascinate me with its amazing beauty. I am always anxious to be out in my workshop working on new bowls, vases carvings and whatever I can come up with. It is my hope to share my creations with anyone who might appreciate them even slightly as much as I loved making them.

Thank you for checking out my shop! Wood is what this is all about. Each piece has its own personality and character. Of course, no two chunks of wood can ever be the same and the fun part is the discovery what exists inside. I hope that you might enjoy these pieces, at least partialy, as much as I did making them.
