About

Trash into Treasure!

I live in a small intentional community called EcoHouse, which has the goal of not producing ANY trash (or recycling) at all. Living trash-free means avoiding purchasing items that come with packaging, creatively reusing containers instead of recycling, and doing lots of composting. Clean discarded materials become transformed into ART, which can be purchased here and in a few local galleries.

EcoHouse is a small "urban farm" that is a cross between a communal EcoVillage and a glorified group house with a focus on sustainability and growing edibles. Sharing resources is one of the best ways to live a more sustainable and abundant life. Read more about the communities movement here: http://ic.org

In addition to making art + being a stay-at-home mom to my awesome toddler daughter, I also teach art/sustainability workshops for a creative reuse center called Scrap Exchange. I teach others how to make all sorts of useful things from reused + recycled materials, and how to reduce producing waste in general.

    Awesome-maker

I have a deep love for both art and sustainability, and have happily combined these two passions with the recyclosaurus project

Shop policies

Last updated on June 13, 2012
Thank you for taking the time to read my policies! If you have a question that has not been addressed in this section, feel free to message me!

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
I have never been asked for a refund, but I would certainly consider any reasonable complaint that someone might have. I get insurance for all items I mail, so we are both safe if the item gets damaged/lost on the way to you!
Payment
Payment is considered due when a purchase is made. Any negotiations with the price or requests for special shipping should have been discussed with me beforehand.

INSTALLMENTS:
You can pay in installments if an item is too expensive for you right now. Contact me BEFORE you purchase this item if that is how you'd like to pay.
Shipping
All items are packaged carefully using clean reused cardboard, and shipped within a week of payment being received. I use USPS and I get SHIPPING INSURANCE for all items I send within the US, just in case they get lost/damaged in the mail.

If you have special shipping preferences (next day shipping, tracking number, etc.), let me know before you make a purchase so that I can adjust the price if necessary for you.
Additional policies and FAQs
ITEM NOT IN MY SIZE:
For many items, you can request something similar in your size. I may not have the same exact fabrics available. Message me if you are interested.

COMMISSIONS:
I am available for all sorts of custom orders ranging from paintings to clothing to cardboard-sculpted-ninja-squirrels? Just tell me what you have in mind and we'll brainstorm up something awesome together :)

GIFTS / GIFT WRAPPING:
If you are purchasing a gift for someone, I am delighted to specially gift-wrap items (with reused but still beautiful wrapping materials) and even enclose a cheerful birthday/holiday/whatever note for you!
