Seeing the potential in a particular piece

I love getting out to rummage and estate sales with hopes of finding a vintage treasure or possibly something that needs a little help coming back to its old self.

My husband and I for years now have been focusing on finding and fixing antique typewriters. He repairs them to working order and I clean, photograph and field questions about these beauties.

Every item I post in the shop has some sort of history/story that Google shares with me. I am very interested in the point in time each piece was manufactured in and learning about its particular purpose.

It is great fun to find something at an estate sale that appeals to me and really has a "wow factor."

I was at a sale a while back and decided to check out the garage. Looking around I spotted a dusty piece of white ceramic sitting on a shelf. The item had an old paint brush in it and dried paint that had dripped down the sides. On closer inspection, I discovered that this ceramic piece was ironstone — a pitcher with no chips! The owner of the house, I assume, had decided to clean a paint brush in it years ago and left it in the garage to soak and never returned.

I cleaned it up and it now resides in my personal ironstone collection. I think I paid a dollar for it at the time because it was such a mess.

All this ironstone pitcher needed was a little cleaning. It is beautiful and one of my favorite pieces because of they way it was found.

I love the hunt for vintage items with rustic charm. I feel like I can see a diamond in the rough, leaving no stone unturned. I have had this interest since I was a young girl while living in Birmingham, Ala. Apparently, it hasn't left me yet.

Thanks for stopping by my Etsy shop. I hope you find something you like and will check back often. I am always out looking for vintage items to place in my shop.

Some of my vintage items have some "wear with age" but I try to keep the nicest, most interesting finds in my shop. Selling quality items with a fair representation through photos and text is what I thrive for. If you have any questions about a particular item email me.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I do not accept returns. Please look over the photos of each item well for an accurate visual description and read the text of each item carefully. Many of my items have some "wear with age." The antique/vintage items have been around for a while and have picked up some bumps and dings in their life. I try my best to describe any imperfections with the photos and text.
I except PayPal, credit card payments through Etsy's Direct Checkout and Etsy giftcards.
I get purchased items in the mail within one to two days through the U.S. Postal Service - standard mail delivery. Almost always, shipping occurs in one day.

I ship from coast to coast and refund shipping overages of more than $3.

I ship to the contiguous (love that word) United States - the 48 and sometimes beyond. Shipping costs outside of the 48 U.S. states to countries and territories vary widely. I do ship internationally, but it can be pricey. So, if you see something you want to purchase and live outside of the U.S., shoot me an email so I can check on shipping costs. I will get back with you in a timely fashion.
