BraveBird is taking a short break

Loading

Note from shop owner Hello all my brave loves! I am taking a break from the small paper carvings I make available here. I am represented by Walker Contemporary so any inquiries to purchase art can be directed toward the gallery! The link can be found on my 'About' page.
I love you all so very much and am sending you strength and warmth and peace.

If you have an opportunity to own a Brave Bird piece, you must not hesitate. Our first piece arrived today and we are honored to hang it in our home. It is stunning - the photos do it no justice!

About

About Maude

Maude White is a papercutting artist living in the Hudson Valley. She is represented by Walker Contemporary. She loves the great strength, yet delicacy of paper. Her work is done on the macro as well as the micro level. Every cut is exact and meaningful. She enjoys playing with positive and negative space to create fantastic scenes and stories. She considers herself a craftsperson and has a deep respect for the paper she transforms. In pursuing her work, she hopes to make visible to others the immense world of possibilities that every piece of paper holds.

Maude has exhibited her work at several galleries in Western New York and the Hudson Valley, been published, and taught classes both to children and adults. She hopes to continue exhibiting her work and expanding into more installation based and site specific papercutting work.

I send all United States orders USPS with tracking unless the customer contacts me ahead of time to arrange for an alternative. Work is shipped in plastic sleeves with cardstock to keep it safe and backed with cardboard to maintain rigidity. The work is not attached to the cardstock it is shipped with!

My darlings - I'll tell you the truth: shipping internationally terrifies me! It is impossible through USPS for me to track the item once it leaves the United States! That is very stressful, especially since shipping to some countries can take weeks, maybe even months. Also, it periodically happens that items may be held up at the local customs office instead of being delivered to the purchaser. I am of course happy to hear from international customers but there is very little I can do unless you request other means of shipment beforehand. I cannot provide refunds for international items lost in international mail. I am so sorry for this. I dearly hope that no little brave birds get lost on their way to you!
Be brave, strong, safe, inspired. You are all so very dear to me.
