Announcement   Welcome to Brax~Tone Delta Blues Box Guitars. (And sometimes random vintage items!)
Master craftsman of some of the most handsome, traditional Mississippi Delta style, cigar box slide guitars in the world.
Hand made one at a time in the USA.
I’ve always been attracted to the fine aesthetic quality of cigar boxes.
As an artist working with wood & mixed media for over 20 years (among other things) creating these primitive, humble little guitars is the most satisfying.
I am pleased that these guitars are a very accessible instrument for aspiring musicians as well as the instrument on which many Blues Masters learned their craft.
Cigar box guitars have a wonderful lineage dating back over 150 years.
They really came into their own during the Great Depression with blues musicians of the Delta Mississippi region making guitars out of found objects.
Cigar box guitars have been enjoying a huge revival recently in other parts of the country, as interested folks are getting back to the real & primitive essence of this unique style of American music.
I’m proud to be making a small contribution to that movement -
referred to as the “Cigar Box Guitar Revolution” & being part of a small group pioneering these marvelous little instruments westward.
I’ve sold my guitars nationally as well as internationally.
One recent recipient was John Mellencamp as well as James Williamson of Iggy Pop & the stooges.
