Hand Dyed Yarn - Made To Order

Baltimore, Maryland | 1,557 Sales

Announcement    Due to high volume in orders and low return on getting supplies in time, I have extended my shipping time to 3-5 days. All orders are made to order and most of the time I only need a day to make the yarn and have it dried and ready to be shipped the next day. Unfortunately, my supplier takes sometimes up to two days to ship my order and then my shipping provider, FEDEX, can take sometimes 2-3 days to deliver my package. Usually it only takes 1 day to get my items but lately FEDEX has been moving my yarn around facilities. For example, they sent it to the right distribution facility to be given to a driver for delivering. Later on that day, my box is now in the White Marsh Shipping Facility ... taking an extra day to return BACK to the correct facility to be delivered to me. I understand that this pandemic has set a lot of companies back, limiting staff, and receiving higher volumes of packages / orders.

Added: When you get notified that your order has been shipped it means that the order should being going out the same day. If you check your tracking number and see that it hasn't moved for a day please do not panic. MY Postal Service here has been slow scanning in items, sometimes taking a day or two to scan. Sometimes also my Postman does not pick up my packages when I request a pick-up.

Thank you all for understanding,
Brea

About BrediculousYarns

When I first started knitting I was only 21. I was in college, trying to get my BA, and even playing college softball. Whenever I had free time I always had yarn in my hands. From there, I was introduced to hand dyed yarn from my LYS in MD, Lovely Yarns. I bought some yarn, knitted some socks, and just wanted to do more! I thought .... hmm ... I can dye yarn myself. After graduating from college, I got a couple jobs and I did two things:
Saved money
Paid loans

What did I save money for?
I saved to start dyeing the yarn myself! From one crockpot in my living room to 9 down in my basement, I started growing! Yes ... I said it ... crockpots! About 90% of your yarn is dyed through these bad boys!

Where did the name come from and what does it mean?
Well Brediculous is my softball nickname! I played co-ed softball after graduating from college and made a name for myself! I was this little outfielder snagging all the balls hit to me, no pun intended, and tracking down everything hit my way. From there, my friend gave me the name that stuck with me. Brea + Riduclous = Brediculous. And so I just added it to my business name.

I am still small, slowly growing, and making a name for myself but every day I am blessed to be able to do something that I love.

Now I am a full time Dyer and it wouldn’t be possible without you ❤️

Frequently asked questions
Do you make customs?

From time to time, yes! Depending on my work load will determine if I can do it or not. But do not hesitate to ask! If I can't I will gladly recommend someone to you. The best time to reach out to me for customs is the Summer!

Can I order more than what is available?

Yes! Please message me and let me know which yarn you are interested in. All colorways can be remade.

Can I get my yarn caked?

Yes! Please leave a comment at checkout asking to be caked when you order your yarn. Any orders caked up are non refundable. Once caked, I will not be able to resell them.

My two skeins look slightlydifferent but are the same colorway, why?

When dyeing yarn, any two skeins or more will never look the same. I do try to make them as close as possible, even in the same dye lot but that's the magic of yarn dyeing ;)
I recommend alternating rows every two rows ( or every time you are on the RS). This will help blend the colors and have a less chance of pooling.

Is it ready to ship?

Yes and no. I do have some yarn in my inventory, mainly for shows, however, a lot of the times your orders are made as soon as I receive the transaction. This is beneficial especially if you ordered more than one of the same colorway.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY ORDER TO SHIP?

I always ask to give me 3-5 week days to ship. This is just to give me some leeway just in case anything was to come up. I try not to work weekends because we are all human and need some time off ... that and softball tournaments seem to take up the spot. Any orders made after 3pm will be made the next day and shipped the following.
