Announcement   Elegant SURI ALPACA, from silky locks to fashion! Check out my new Children's book just released!!!! Serendipity the Three Legged Alpaca. Come see me at the Best of Missouri Market and more at St. Louis Botanical Gardens Sept 30, Oct 1-2nd. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/things-to-do/events/signature-events/best-of-missouri-market.aspx

It is my privilege and passion to be able to work with the beautiful and elegant suri alpaca and the wonderful natural fiber they produce. The alpacas are not harmed in any way and sheared only once a year. They are loved and cared for with quality hay and daily attention.

The fiber of the suri alpaca is compared to fine cashmere with the luster of silk. Suri fiber is used for high fashion fabric for designer clothing, luxury apparel, coats, sweaters and specialty interior fabrics and textiles. Suri alpaca is an ancient fiber prized for a combination of elegant traits: Luster, drape, softness, multiple natural colors, ease of dyeing and versatility. Both knitting and weaving can be used to produce luxury products.

Alpaca is flame resistant, meeting the standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's rigid testing specifications as a Class 1 fiber for use in clothing and furnishings.

About

Where Fiber Becomes Fashion

After being a stay at home mom and maintaining my husbands business, I became the owner and fiber artist of Breezy Ridge Alpacas LLC. My passion is to create and design accessories and high end fashion that bring out the elegant qualities of the suri alpaca fiber. I also offer yarn, luxury roving and suri alpaca locks to other fiber artists and spinners.

My love for the suri alpaca is what drives me to create the designs I make. My creations are made from the fiber they produce in which the elegant silky locks of the alpaca tell me what to make as though the fiber talks to me.

Suri is an ancient fiber prized for a combination of elegant traits: Luster, drape, softness, multiple natural colors, ease of dyeing and versatility. Few other natural fibers possess all these attributes, making Suri fiber highly sought after throughout the world.

The alpaca fiber is self sustainable being sheared once a year, with no harm to the animal, for a harvest of lovely silky suri alpaca locks.
