About

Why buy from Bridgewood Place?

In an era where “handmade” now encapsulates automated CNC machines, laser engravers, etc., we continue the handmade tradition in what we believe to be its true form…by hand. All Bridgewood Place items are hand-milled to rough cut size using 3/4" thick solid REAL wood (no MDF, finished plywoods, or veneers), glued & clamped to size specification when necessary then finish cut to final dimensions. The item is then assembled, by hand, using our trademark #10 coarse-threaded fasteners (SCREWS) for holding power (no nails, brads or staples that can back out over time). Our engraving is also done by hand by our shop artisan via pyrographic (wood-burned) etching. The item is then hand-distressed to produce a softened look & feel, finished in the hand-rubbed stain of your choice then sealed with a hand-rubbed top coat conditioner/sealer. We take pride in our obsessive attention to every detail because we know the hands that receive our product hold our future.

ABOUT US:
The Bridgewood Place shop sits on a quiet country road in northeastern Indiana. It represents our return to a simpler life. An existence centered upon peace & quiet; centered upon unplugging from all of the distractions that take us further from who & where we want to be. A place where enjoying the sun setting upon miles of corn gently swaying in the evening breeze is more important than Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest. In short, Bridgewood Place is not so much a location as it is a state of mind. We don’t get caught up in a zillion emails, obsess over any of the barrage of social media that seems to accompany every business; or feel the need to use superficial bells & whistles to sell our products. Simply put; we offer a high quality handmade product, with attention to every detail, for a competitive marketplace price. So while everyone else is posting on Facebook for the umpteenth time, we'll be out in the shop hand-crafting one of our stock items or a custom order just for you. Come quittin' time, you'll find us out on the shop deck watching the cornfields sway. When you get finished for the day, meet us out back. We’ll have a cold glass of iced-tea waiting for you.
