Additional policies and FAQs
Here are some helpful suggestions for anyone looking to purchase a hoop.

When choosing a hoop, it's commonly recommend that you measure from the ground up to about 1-2” above your belly button. Although some beginners do like hoops below this height and some like larger hoops. The larger and heavier a hoop is, the slower it will rotate around the body, making learning new moves easier. As you become a more skilled hoop dancer, you may want to choose a smaller and lighter hoop for an increased range of moves and faster speeds.

Here's an idea of some hoop sizes:
36" - (small) a quick roatation recommended for Pro's and Kiddies
38" - (medium size) a faster rotataion recommended for advanced hoopers or children
40" - (large) recommended for beginner and intermediate hoopers
42" - (generous size) a slower roatation recommended for beginners or tall and larger framed hoopers

If you would like a size that you don't see please contact me and we can create your preferred fit.

Currently I offer these types of tubing for your hoops.

3/4" 160 psi (heaviest option and PERFECT for exercise, and beginners)
3/4" 100 psi (lighter option GREAT for hoop dance and kiddies)
1/2 "125 psi (smaller and lighter EXCELLENT for hoop dance and tricks)

I state specifically the type of tubing I use in the description of each listing. If I am custom making a hoop for you please follow the offered guidelines given above and contact me with your preference.

Bright Side Of The Moon offers standard hoops and collapsible style hoops as well. The collapsible hoops fold into a quarter of their size for easy travel. They first rotate to form a figure 8 shape, which you can then fold upon itself to form two smaller circles. Rotation when opening/closing the hoop occurs at two connection points which are marked with tape on opposite sides of the hoop. Do not hold the hoop at these connection points while opening/closing it or it will not rotate freely, causing it to kink.

***Check out this link I came across on YouTube for easy to follow instructions
(I hope to get my own vid up soon, for now this will help :-)

Other tips on caring for your hoop to give it the love it deserves:

Store your collapsible hoop in it's open position. It's folding mechanism is intended for covenience travel purposes only. Leaving your hoop in the closed position for extended periods of time, such as for storage, may result in difficulty reshaping it.

Hoop on softer surfaces like grass or carpet which are less likely to damage the exterior of your hoop. Rough surfaces like gravel or concrete can cause scratches if your hoop hits the ground.

Store your hoop in a cool place. Don't leave it in your car or outside on hot days. Hoops are made of plastic and when they get warm they can loose their shape.

Most important : Enjoy your new hoop!
