I absolutely love this piece of art! It is so finely crafted, so unique, so gorgeous! I ordered it as a special gift for a dear friend who just turned 50 and for whom biking transformed his life and saved him from a serious illness. Nothing could be more appropriate than this piece. Thank you ever so much for working with me, for going out of your way to send me the piece overseas and for being so wonderful all around. Best of luck with your work!

About

BrokenBoard - An experiment in reclaimed art and craft.

I was living in Portland, OR, and I started riding my bike to work daily. The commute was 25 miles round trip, and I thought that was the longest ride imaginable! A bit has changed since then, but my love for the bicycle and its simplicity has not.

So being a woodworker, I started getting into making bike accessories out of reclaimed wood. I love the idea that I can make something out of an old piece of wood, and from that point on it has a new life. I started gifting the things I made to friends and colleagues, and everyone loved them, thus the shop was born.

All of my materials are milled from reclaimed wood to the custom pieces that they are now. I use a lot of old barn wood and weathered pallets to give that beautiful antiqued style.

Living now in Charleston, SC I am anew with excitement for the bike movement. Its really just getting started down south, and I love to be a part of that progression. There is so much inspiration down here, and I love to try and pull from that for all of my art and craft. I'm really looking forward to what I can come up with next!

I grew up working with my father in the trades, and have always been prone to woodworking. Originally I used my skills solely as a means to make a living, but as I evolved, I began using wood in art as my creative outlet.

Hello to all. Welcome, and I'm happy you found my little shop. I work out of an old farmhouse outside Charleston, SC, and I LOVE making things. All things. Doesn't seem to matter. I am often found sorting through old broken boards, doors, frames, etc. looking for the perfect material for a new project. Hence the name BrokenBoard! Have a look around, and please contact me with ANY questions. I want to be accessible to my customers and your wants matter to me greatly, so speak up! Haha.

Payment
I currently accept paypal or major credit cards as forms of payment. I do not charge taxes, and I will ship the following business day after the payment goes through. I am more than happy to work out something specific for you as well, as I understand sometimes circumstances require a little extra. Just let me know how I can better handle your order, and it shall be done!
Shipping
I will use either USPS, FedEx, or UPS. That depends on which of the three can give the best insured rates. I find if a piece fits in the flat rate usps boxes, that is a good way to go. Otherwise I like UPS or FedEx for their built in insurance. All items are insured for shipping. My art is nearly all wood and metal, thus it leads to some shipping charges that are higher than average. If you have a preferred method just let me know.

That being said, I would love to ship internationally. Just send me a quick conversation with your location, and I will get back promptly with an accurate figure for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
My goal is to provide art that is enjoyed by those who buy it. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, I will accept all returns, however you will be responsible for shipping back as well. If the piece arrives damaged, I will pursue whatever means necessary to replace or refund your purchase. I want you to leave my shop with a positive feeling, and I want you to be happy with what you have purchased. Art is fun and beautiful, and I strive to keep it that way.
Additional policies and FAQs
I would love to work on a custom item for you. Please send me a conversation and we can work out the specifics.
