After a decade-long career as a public school English teacher, I decided to focus solely on my need to create. I now sell my handmade beautiful one-of-a-kind wooden buntings, bunting kits, and bunting pieces. I also hand make many other amazing wooden and glass-glittered home decor items.

My twin talents and heart's desire to teach and create have allowed me to blossom as one of the Dallas area's premier crafting workshop instructors. I love encouraging other ladies to reach their dreams through their God-given talents!

In my community, Brookielynn's Bungalow, is a place where one can come with friends or a date for a super fun, highly-engaging, workshop during which I teach others to value their own creativity while crating buntings, frames, shiplap signs, and faux-finishing furniture & cabinets.

I have been blessed (and cursed) with many “artsy” and creative ideas for most of my life. So much so that my hardest problem to overcome is FOCUS! LOL

I’m feel enormous gratitude to have met and married the man of my dreams, my true-love, Matt, 6 years ago. We are so thankful to God for blessing us with three beautiful, healthy, talented, and super cute kids--Jayden, Lila and little Lincoln.

God is my strength, my peace, and my courage. I love being my own boss, creating everyday and making friends with all you--my beloved customers, clients, and fellow cohorts in this crafty crazy world. I love making anything with old wood and lots of my German glass glitter. Silver is my favorite. I love teaching others how to build buntings, faux finish and properly use German glass glitters. I believe smiling through difficulties, praising God for what we do have, and stewarding what we have been given to the best of our abilities are the pathways to success. My family has been so blessed in our lives.

I found my passion and talent faux finishing, designing & making things well over 5 years ago after purchasing a nasty ten dollar dresser and turning it into a show stopping, eye balls popping, repurposed, little-girls dream changing table. My mind immediatley started racing with all the other garage-sale finds I could purchase and a small business was born. This was fun but a lot of hard work. It is stressful to own your own refinishing business as a mom of three because you can never balance all that is to be done in business and raising a family without a lot of help, support, and deigation. I overcame the conundrum of scaling my business by opening up my first workshop in Whimsy Finds Celina, Texas where I teach others to upcycle their own pieces during our trademarked classes Chalktails™, Milktails™ and Build a Bunting™ workshops! Making rustic shiplap signs, glass glittered home decor, and wooden buntings is so exciting and fulfilling!

In my life, my husband has supported me 100%. We both decided to quit our day jobs one month apart, and my mom was scared for us to say the least because we had three kids, a house, two cars, two cats, etc...we KNEW that ripping the bandaid off to follow our dreams was never going to be easy, but we knew our hard work, faith, and stick-to-it-ness would see us through! Prayers were answered — Here we are a very successful, family-centered, community driven Christian couple with a wonderful family and two wildly successful self-owned businesses. Yay!

My mission in life is to make a difference in the lives of others by filling their homes and doors with beauty and thereby providing the best opportunities from my children and their future.
