A Treasure Hunt Every Day
I started bringing home old things as soon as I could drive myself around to sales. My first pick was an old table. It progressed to vintage jewelry, antique cast metal items and old toys. I still have many of those items. There is a history in these items reflected in their patina and workmanship that can not be reproduced in todays wares.
My home is mainly antiques and vintage with only a few new pieces. 30 years ago I purchased mainly 1860's furniture, made of cherry, butternut and walnut. These pieces have very simple lines.
A few years ago I found the 1960s. Fell in love with the simple lines of the modern designs of a 100 years later. Somehow the two blend rather well.
I am always attracted to unique and unusual items. But vintage utilitarian items are something to pass on as well. The difference in the weight and feel of a vintage tumbler as oppose to a new one is impressive. That is why there are still vintage ones out there. I wonder if any of the new glassware will be around in 50 years?
I started selling on Etsy to thin out some of my treasures. But since I am always treasure hunting I don't have any extra space. So my plan has not been successful yet but I sure am having fun!
Well, that's a little about me and why I started my shop. I hope you enjoy the latest finds. I have a room full of items I have not listed yet so stop back. My other shop here on Etsy has older items and antiques, www.etsy.com/shop/OldStoneFarmhouse

Estate sales, yard sales, second hand or antique shops are a must stop. There are so many wonderful items out there just waiting to find a new home with someone who loves and appreciates them.
