About

Collecting and selling the best in vinyl for half a century.

City Beat vintage Vinyl is made up of J. B. and Amy B. We sell Vintage Vinyl Records from the forties to the nineties representing a wide variety of genres, including opera, classical music, jazz, folk, rock, soundtracks, vocals, pop, etc. We test play all our Vintage Records.

Vinyl sounds best! We love the full sound of vinyl, and will be regularly adding new listings from our huge inventory of vintage recorded music. Check every day for more tasty treats.

Much of the cover art on album sleeves is deliciously iconic, or nostalgically evokes an almost magical sense of times and places past. And nothing sets your comfort zone to that perfect spot like music. Look to City Beat Vintage Vinyl for old favorites as well as the unusual and the uncommon. It's our intent to present some interesting items and sometimes even a few historic rarities.

Album covers make the perfect Wall Decor for your hi-fi room! Many of these LPs are dressed in fantastically decorative jackets featuring great art work or containing some of the most nostalgic and iconic imagery.

As to the music itself - we understand the concern collectors have for quality. We are fully conversant with the Goldmine grading standards, but, considering the subjective nature of any such system, we have chosen to test-play every record for condition instead of just visually grading - this to insure quality. This is time-consuming but it ensures that we can accurately report on the condition of each record, while still keeping in mind the standards laid down by Goldmine.

I do not show pictures of the disc surface because it is impossible to get an accurate picture and necessary details do not show properly - really there is nothing to see but that a record is there — and believe me — a record is there! Sometimes a disc label will be shown, because it is key to identifying and dating the pressing, or because there is some flaw to the label (which is uncommon). Please read my condition reports.

As always, if you have questions I am happy to answer them.

I've been selling and collecting records for half a century! I love vinyl - the way it sounds and the way it looks. As far as I'm concerned the only thing that beats vinyl is a live performance. My tastes are eclectic.
