About Us
I grew up working with my Dad in his home shop, and learned the basics of woodworking from him, I wish that I had paid more attention at the time, but just like most kids, I didn’t think that I would ever enjoy creating items from wood enough to really pay attention to what he was trying to teach me.
I am a self-proclaimed country geek, I have always been interested and engaged in technology which led me to my business. I started researching CNC routers several years ago, and since I had been woodworking for several years before it just seemed like a really good fit for me considering my interests and experience.
We are a small family-owned business located in Huxley, TX. If you've never been there, you've probably never heard of it. My wife and I handle all areas of our business, I concentrate on the design, machining, and finishing. My wife keeps me motivated and inspired by coming up with new ideas and sales. We recently transitioned to concentrating full-time on Burl Wood Designs. We both left the corporate world to pursue our dream of working for ourselves. She is excellent at sales and has never met anyone she couldn’t talk to, we really enjoy creating custom, personalized items for our customers and hope you find something that interests you.
