Small beginnings with big ideas....

Dan and I have been doing woodworking for about 8 years now. Well, I have - Dan's been for many many years. We were doing small local jobs, mostly - plaques and signs and whatnot. I'm an avid knitter and decided to make myself a set of wooden sock blockers. I posted them in a group on FB, and it started!! I set up the Etsy shop about a few years ago, and haven't looked back. My dream was that we would be able to expand and grow the business enough that I would be able to give up the full time job and just work on our venture. Well, December first, 2015 was my official first day of self-employment!!

Dan does all the CNC (carving machine) work, and I do all the laser work. I'm supposed to learn how to use the CNC machines, but I think I will do that when Dan learns to knit. I'm not expecting this any time soon....

Frequently asked questions
How do I care for my wooden blockers and tools?

Your blockers and tools have been handcrafted with lots of care and attention. They have been treated with a minimum of 2 coats of outdoor polyurethane, and all edges have also been treated with a finishing wax. However, they are not indestructible and should have preventative care.
It is recommended that they not be stored near heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
We also recommend that they be periodically treated with a finishing wax, such as you would use on your wooden floors and furniture, to preserve and protect. Beeswax also works very well. With proper care, your blockers should last for many years. They can be used to damp block your items.
